4. How has the penicillin been
discovered:
• In 1928, Alexander made a
chance discovery from an
already discarded,
contaminated Petri dish. The
mold that had contaminated
the experiment turned out to
contain a powerful antibiotic,
penicillin.
• However, though Fleming was
credited with the discovery, it
was over a decade before
someone else turned penicillin
into the miracle drug for the
20th century.

5. A story about a boy and Fleming:
Once after a long day on the field the farmer Hugh
Fleming heard somebody shouting near a swamp. He
went there and saw a boy in the swamp sinking into
the mud and screaming. Hugh run to his horse for a
rope, to help the boy. He reached his goal.
A few days after that, a carriage stopped in front of
Fleming’s home. It was the father of the boy saved
by Hugh. He offered Hugh decent amount of money
but the farmer refused it. Suddenly the farmer’s son
came in and greeted the men. When the father of
the saved boy got that the young man was the
farmer’s son, he gave him money to study in a good
school.
The farmer’s son became a famous man – Alexander
Fleming.
