Detecting Dif Between Conventional And Computerized Adaptive Testing.Pptbarthriley
This document describes a Monte Carlo study that evaluated two Bayesian approaches for detecting differential item functioning (DIF) between items administered via computerized adaptive testing (CAT) and paper-and-pencil testing. The study generated CAT and P&P item response data under varying conditions and estimated item parameters. Two DIF detection procedures - a modified robust Z statistic and 95% credible intervals - were evaluated based on their true positive and false positive rates under different study factors like DIF size, trait level differences, and item usage. Both procedures showed adequate control of false positive DIF but power varied based on these factors, with credible intervals showing slightly higher power but also higher false positive rates. Future research is needed to test the procedures under
A 16-year-old named Clémence introduces herself and shares her interests in art, travel, languages and her dream of becoming an architect and studying in Japan. She has been best friends with Fanny for 10 years and they have similar lives. This document contains a 27-question questionnaire about a company's recruitment process. Some key details:
- The recruitment process typically involves 3 stages and uses written tests, group discussions, personal interviews, and input from sales, administration, and production departments.
- Candidates are sourced through employee referrals, campus recruitment, advertising, recruitment agencies, and job portals. Recruitment is tracked manually or through software.
- The average time spent interviewing each candidate is 20-30 minutes by both HR and sales departments. The recruitment process takes 3-6 months on average and varies by employee grade.
The Use Of Decision Trees For Adaptive Itembarthriley
This document compares the use of decision tree approaches to IRT-based CAT (computerized adaptive testing) for adaptive item selection and score estimation. Decision trees use predictor variables to partition a sample into increasingly homogeneous subgroups, represented as nodes in a tree structure. The study used decision tree algorithms and IRT modeling to select items and estimate scores on substance abuse scales. It found that decision trees were more efficient initially but that CAT outperformed decision trees in later stages of administration and had higher sensitivity to group differences. The authors conclude that combining decision trees with CAT may provide advantages.

This document discusses the use of magnetic resonance spectroscopy (MRS) to analyze brain metabolites. It describes how MRS can detect specific metabolites and changes in their concentrations that indicate different disease states. Key points covered include:
- MRS can detect metabolites like NAA, creatine, choline, myo-inositol, and lactate.
- Different concentrations and ratios of these metabolites provide information about conditions like tumors, strokes, infections, demyelinating diseases, and epilepsy.
- MRS is useful for characterizing lesions, determining tumor grade, and evaluating treatment response.
- Specific metabolite patterns can help distinguish conditions like brain tumors from abscesses.
