The Solar System is located in the Milky Way galaxy in the Orion Arm. It is estimated to be about 28,000 light years from the center of the Milky Way. The Solar System consists of the Sun and eight planets that orbit it - Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune. It also includes smaller bodies like dwarf planets, asteroids, comets and satellites as well as the space between the planets.
