- I have been teaching adults for seventeen years. I taught intensive ESL courses at Southern Illinois University before coming to Elgin Community College. I have taught GED, ESL (all levels beginning through advanced), developmental reading/writing, college preparation courses, and CTE Adult Education support classes (welding). My background includes graduate studies in linguistics, TESOL, and developmental education. - Although a majority of my students come from Mexico, I also have students from South America, Europe, Africa, and Asia. Even though none of my classes are taught in Spanish, I do know how to speak a little Spanish. I also have a limited ability in French, German, and Russ
