2. The Goonies, Pirates of the Caribbean Dead Mans
chest, The A-Team and Star Wars The Phantom
Menace were the four films I deconstructed.
The films each refer to a problem or task that needs to
be tackled as shown in the first two minutes.
Each film contains at least one character with
some kind of weapon in each clip which
immidiatley represents action
3. Each of the films include non diagetic sound
towards the start of the film to create tension and
mood. Tension is also shown between more than
one character within the first two minutes like
the A- Team, creating versimilitude.
Each character involved in the action are
generally men. For example in Pirates of the
Caribbean the problems caused are mainly by
Cutler Beckett. Also noticed is that a villain type
character is shown in each of the first 2 minutes.
4. The Goonies, Pirates of the Caribbean and The A-
Team all include tracking shots in the first two
minutes to show what's going on around them and
where they’re set. Close ups are also used in the
clips to show the characters emotions. Shot reverse
shot is another type of shot used in some of the
films to show the moods and expressions of each
character.
5. In my PowerPoint I found out throughout the
different decades that there seemed to often be a hero
(usually a man) who was connected with a secret
mission that they had to tackle . They also involved
some type of villain or bad guy who they had to face.
6. Throughout my research I have learnt that
most action adventure movies contain ongoing
action throughout the movie with usually a
hero and a villain involved.
Non Diagetic music is often used in this type of
genre to set the mood and tension at the start.
Tracking shots are used to show what's around
them in the scene and shot reverse shot is often
used between characters to show there
expressions.
