Description:
OIL COUNTRY TUBULAR LIMITED is a leading manufacturer of oil & Gas components. This
company is divided into two divisions. Mass production & job production. Our projects
comes under engineering division where job production of versatile jobs are done using
CNC machining.Worked as an Assistant engineer in “OIL COUNTRY TUBULAR
LIMITED” from April 2012 to October 2013 under department OF “ENGINEERING
DIVISION” where job production of precisioned aerospace & defence products is done
using CNC turning & milling machines.These products follow the standard “AS 9100” REV
C called aerospace & defence products standard.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Understanding client requirements & scope of work.
Checking raw-material dimensions, raw-material testing,and finally raw-material
clearance for machining.
Preparation of:
• Technical specification.
• Bill of material for the drawings.
• Daily progress report of the machining work on every machine.

4. Project Description:
Working as an engineer in design and development of aerospace vehicles since Feb
2014.
COLLEGE PROJECT :
TITLE : MACHINING OF A COMPONENT USING CNC(computer numerical control)
MILLING.
Usually machining can be done in two ways.
i, Turning ii, Milling
In turning, there are only two axis (x-axis which represents the diameter,z axis
represents the length.where in case of milling, normally 3 axis is used previously.but
now a days 7 axis is used.In our project, we have used cnc milling.First we have drawn
the component in autocad software and from which we took the center as
origin(0,0).with respect to the origin,we took the coordinates of all points and we wrote
the cnc program in milling taking in the parameters such as feed in mm/revolution,depth
of cut in mm,speed(rpm) revolutions per minute, tool diameter,offset.after transferring
the program into the machine, put the control in single block.make the feed control, rpm
to zero position and press cycle start and slowly release the feed, rpm.after the first
block is executed,machine will ask for next block to execute.again press single
block.after completing the first cycle,then the single block is put to auto button where
the program runs continuosly.this is how we have done the component using cnc
programming in milling.
