2. Objectives
• To provide an opportunity for the participants to understand each other in a better way,
to build long term Bonding and Understanding through Trekking & Discussions. Thus,
inculcating the spirit of team work qualities to the participants.
• To take participants to rural area and to make them aware of the locale's lifestyle,
culture and customs and also to experience nature in its purest form.

We provide an end to end customized experience. You choose from trips such as Rural and city circuits
with about 25 exotic locations to chose from. We organize trips for Companies, Families, Colleges and
Schools.

Whilst focusing on enriching the tourism experience of customers, Madurai Ecotourism
contributes passively towards conservation of environment and development of marginalized
communities through:
• Minimising the revenue that leaks out of the community,
• Enhancing and diversifying local livelihood opportunities,
• Minimising ecological footprint,
• Creating Awareness and mobilizing human capital for environmental
conservation,
• Respecting local community culture and values and supporting social
development,
BASECAMP, the other hand, concentrates on enhancement of environmental attributes and social
conditions of the destinations, which in turn contributes to improving the customer experience.
BASECAMP would
Undertake active research through field based interventions to build sustainable
and replicable models for overall development of marginalised populations in
remote areas
Collaborate with local NGOs and Community based organisations for
implementing community based interventions amongst marginalised
communities
Mobilise resources and support from donors, corporate, NGOs, technology
Providers, experts, research organisations, other organisations of repute and
volunteers
Facilitate and promote socio-cultural exchanges
Promote volunteering in schools, colleges and corporate
Facilitate CSR interventions for corporate

The whole group would be divided into ten teams with 25 participants in each team. Two teams will
be taken to any two of the below locations in each weekend.

3. Nedubakandam
4. Aravenu
5. Top Slip
6. Kil Kotagiri
7. Kunjapannai (Ooty)
8. Kolukumalai
9. Anju Veddu

6. Megamalai:
This is a great Location for a trek offering route with tea estates initially
and then dense forest with wild animal like Malabar gaint squiril,wild elephant and the
place is completely secluded from the cities. If we are lucky we could also see some pug
mark of leopard. I can bet you that this location will beat Munnar hands down…We will be
staying in our Madurai Ecotourism location a remote a next to the estate in the forest are
building/ camp in the forest area..

Nedumbakandam:
This trek starts with a water fall with naturally designed water slides, it’s a
start with a splash and then the trek is through the jungle with little lemon plantation initially ... as we
move on we will get in to denser forest with Bison , wild buffalo and few tribal pl. walking to a tribal
village near which we will be camping for the night. This tribal village is in the middle of the forest and
the view of the dense , scenic mountains around will just tranquilize you..

7. Aravenu:
A small settlement at the tip of the mountain in Kotagiri. Aravenu is famous for the Indian
Gaurs which roam around the sprawling tea gardens all over even during daytime. You can see the
workers working around them without posing much attention towards it. So, admirably they are not as
dangerous as in the Wild.
Difficulty level: Moderate
Top Slip:
Place of versatile nature lying adjacent to Parambikulam Wildlife Sanctuary near
Coimbatore. To protect the endangered Tiger species in the region, the INDIRA GANDHI WILDLIFE
SANCTUARY has been setup in this area. This area is well-known for its Bio-diversity. If we want to have
a hide-out to see a real fight for the survival of the fittest, then TOP-SLIP should be the place of choice.
We can sight Tiger, Leopard, Bison’s, herds of Elephants, Wild Boars, Sambar Deer’s, Spotted Deer’s,
Wild Dogs, Wild Cats, Porcupines and huge variety of Bird species like Flame Back, Rocket Tailed Drongo,
Tree pies, Hornbills, Parquets, Fly catchers, King fisher’s etc.

8. Kil Kotagiri:
Kotagiri is about 45kms from Mettupalayam at an altitude of 1700m above msl.The
kotagiri is the oldest tourist destination in the whole of Nilgiri range .Kotagiri is still unpolluted and green
with huge peaks nearby compared to Coonoor or Ooty.Keel Kotagiri is around 20kms away from Kotagiri
along the Mudumalai Tiger Reserve.Our stay will be much deeper inside the forest at an altitude of 1200m
approximately.

Kunjapannai (Ooty):
Just about an hour drive from mettupalayam in the ghat road, we will reach
Kunjapannai. A 15 minutes walk from the main road will lead us to Kallar kudil , serene stay amidst the tea
and pepper plantations near the forest - Home to Bisons, Elephants,Bears & Wild Cats The calm and green
environment is a boon for bird watchers as variety of birds criss cross on the air.

9. Kubamkarai:
This trek starts with a water fall with naturally designed water slides, its a start with a splash
and then the trek is through the jungle with little lemon plantation initially ... as we move on
we will get in to denser forest with Bison , wild buffalo and few tribal pl. walking to a tribal
village near which we will be camping for the night. This tribal village is in the middle of the
forest and the view of the dense , scenic mountains around will just tranqualize you..

10. General Terms and Conditions:
1. Tariff includes:
1. Local travel: Non A/c Cab or Bus to & fro to a scheduled common pick up point,
2. Food
• Includes breakfast and lunch
• Only Vegetarian food will be served
3. Team building activities,
4. Service tax
2. Tariff DOES NOT include:
• Snacks, tea and water bottles
• Other incidental expenses at destinations like cost of boating, rides, entry passes, camera
pass, etc if any
3. Minimum Group Size:
• The rates quoted is applicable only for a minimum group size of 30 travelers
• At any point in time, if the group size is less than six, Madurai Ecotourism reserve all rights
to drop the trip
• The reimbursement will be in accordance with the cancellation policies below.
4. Booking time limit:
For weekend tours and treks in all other destinations, the trip should be confirmed (vide payment
of 50% advance), 7 days before the proposed travel days
5. Payment terms and conditions:
5.1 Advance Payment:
The intent of travel will be confirmed only upon receipt of advance payment (50% of the
total trip cost); ticketing will be initiated only upon receipt of advance.
5.2: Full Payment
The trip will be deemed confirmed only upon receipt of full payment, failing which
Madurai Ecotourism reserves all rights to cancel the trip; reimbursement will be in
accordance with the cancellation policies.

11. 5.3: Payment modality:
Payment can be through cash deposit/ cash transfer to Madurai Ecotourism bank

6. Cancellation Policy:
For full/ part cancellation of trip order, a part of the total cost will be deducted towards
cancellation charges, subject to the following.
• 72 hours before scheduled departure time, 20% of the cost will be deducted
• Between 72 hours and the before scheduled departure time, 50% of the cost will
be deducted
• The balance payment will be made via Cheque or cash transfer
• Part cancellations, will be subject to the conditions with regard to minimum group
size
7. Request for changes in travel plan
7.1 Additional traveler(s):
• Request for additional travelers will also be entertained subject to booking time limit
• All other terms and conditions apply.
7.2: Replacement/substitution of traveler(s):
Any replacements in the personnel traveling, will be considered as part
cancellation and additional booking
7.3: Destination
• Any request for changes in destination will be treated as a cancellation and re-booking, if
the revised destination is not within the same zone
• All other terms and conditions apply.
8. Others:
• All travelers must carry a valid original identity card (election id card, PAN card or driving
license)
• Madurai Ecotourism is not responsible for the safety of any personal belongings of the
traveler

12. • Madurai Ecotourism has a strict NO LIQUOR POLICY in its accommodation premises as
well as during its tours and treks. SMOKING IS A STRICTLY BANNED inside the forests and in
other public places (wherein smoking is banned by legislation). Consumption of alcoholic
beverages during the trip and smoking inside forest and in public places would not be
tolerated. Madurai Ecotourism reserves all rights to cancel the trip midway if the travelers
are found to be violating these rules
• Travelers are requested not to switch on the sound system in the cars while inside forest
and also not to wear any heavy perfumes
• Please do not leave any garbage in the places that we visit, other than in designated
garbage dumping areas or waste collection facilities.
