The Urkiola Natural Park is located in northern Spain in Vizcaya and was declared a protected area on December 29, 1989, home to more than 120 species of plants and animals. The geological history of the park shows that the rocks were formed 140 million years ago, became calcareous 120 million years ago, and 110 million years ago the sea was wide and deep allowing coral to appear.
