That rotten slice
1. That Rotten Slice...
I know you are like me, constantly swinging left...hoping the slice will at least be in my fairway. I
think I spent more time playing from my neighbor's fairway than I ever did my own. I was scared to
go play any decent courses or for heaven's sake have to hit first. I am sure you know what I am
talking about. I was so sick and tired of trying to fix my slice that I was about to quit...man this is not
worth all the crap.
I have tried to stack and tilt, the traditional, the one-plane swing, the two-plane and every other
friggin' plane out there. I tried to rotary swing and perfect connection and probably about every
single thing I thought would help. I bought more training aids than I am even going to admit to. I
bought new drivers, irons, wedges, and for the love of all things golf a putter.
My goodness, I really wanted to break 100 and let me tell you, somedays I would have been glad to
only hit a 100 or so. I knew it was because I could not hit a ball that did not slice. I mean really how
bad do you have to slice...to hit a slice with a wedge. I mean come on! I played a round with a guy
who must have been 25 years older than me and he beat the crap out of me. His shots while not long
were right in the center of the fairway.
I did not even know there was a left side to the golf courses I played. I am a pretty smart guy why
couldn't I figure this out. I listened to all the tapes and watched them hit shot after shot...it is enough
to make a man sick at his stomach. I swear.
But there is hope, at least there was for me, and in the next few posts I will tell you how I learned to
hit a draw! That's right, I said a draw. I dropped 20 strokes like that too.
