1. What Is C-tick?
Recently, one of my customers who are interested in our LED PAR 20 lamp asked me if
we had C-tick. At the first sight, I just think of SAA, which stands for Standards Association
of Australian. What is that?
After searching on the Internet, I learn that in order to export the electrical products to
Australia, the suppliers not only should have some safety certifications, but also the EMC
mark, that is the C-tick, whose purpose is to protect the sources of telecommunication
frequency channel. It is a little similar to the EMC of Euro. If we want to export your LED
PAR lights to Australia, we should apply the C-tick.
C-Tick EMC Australia is in the control of the Australian Communications Authority (ACA -
Australia Community Association.) Before apply for the tick, the product must be tested
according to the related CISPR(Comite International Special Des Perturbations
Radioelectriques). And then the test report should be endorsed and submitted by the
Australian importer. Then the ACA will handle with the application and provide the
registration number. Exporting the LED lights to Australia, it is not a easy thing, especially
for the problem of certifications. But as to safety, we should do that.
