1. Sunset Rush
It was our third day at camp and the beach was basically right there. It was
waiting for us to trample all over its rough surface, the waves crashing
against the rocks made a threatening roar. It sounded like an ordinary day to
me; it was late in the evening and the sun was slowly setting down.
All of the Year 7’s made their way to the beach. Now that it was the evening
the water started to glisten in the reflection of the setting sun.
The activities were set and you could choose between a number of things. The
evening was going slow but was still filled with enthusiasm and laughter. My
friends and I made our way to the water’s edge; we quietly sat down and
watched the waves sway back and forth. I finally got bored and went to go
join the Tug o’war. When I arrived there I saw the adults laughing and
chattering with joy. By the look of that I guessed the adults had won the
previous round. By the time I got there everyone was packing up the items
but there was time for one more game. I quickly got into my position (trust
me I’m no sport’s woman but I enjoy sport) and held onto the rope, I didn’t
want to hold on too tight because I was scared I might get rope burn. Trust
me it’s not a very nice feeling.
The game started in a sudden flash; I literally got pulled to the ground but I
instantly got to my feet and started pulling. I felt like I was controlling a huge
herd of angry, raging bulls. The game was nearing an end and the children
had a head start on the parents. Just one mightier tug and we would win the
game I walked out with red hands, and the thought of rope burn flashed
through my mid. But more importantly we had actually wont the last game.
A TRIUMPHANT FEELING!!!
