Google’s latest release, the Android Beta 11 is out, and it comes with a dozen updates,

The updated notification history in Android 11 makes it
easy for users to look back at notifications they’ve
missed and even enable them to interact with their
contents. Users can now go back as far as 24 hours and
notification history.
1. Open the “Apps and Notifications” section of the system settings.
2. Tap on “Notifications”.
3. Look for “Notification History” at the top of the screen and tap on it.
4. Use the toggle to activate the feature
Bubble Chat feature helps access important conversations on demand,
through a small bubble icon. Tap on the bubble icon of any conversation,
it turns into an independent window and floats on whatever screen you
are working on, thus making the conversation readily available to you,
anytime.

3. The consolidated keyboard suggestion feature triggers the Input Method Editors IIMEs)
to autofill context-specific suggestions within the keyboard’s suggestion strip. For
example, if you are trying to log into a specific website, the consolidated keyboard
suggestion feature will show the website’s username and password so you can fill it up
with a single tap.
In order to improve voice access, Google has implemented on-device visual context.
This technology is designed to understand screen content and context (i.e, what’s on
the screen) and generate labels for them, without having the need to saying numbers
allotted to the specific items on the screen, which was the case in earlier versions of
Android.
It’s a useful addition for people who love to control their phones through voice.

MEDIA CONTROLS
In previous versions, the Media Controls would normally
appear at the top of your notifications when a video or
music is playing. Whereas in Android 11, it has been
moved up and integrated into ‘Quick Settings’ area,
above the notifications.
It can be collapsed and expanded. When expanded,
you’ll see a scrub bar, album art, and other items the
music app shows. There is a new button which shows
you where your audio is going, whether to Bluetooth,
headphones or speakers.

DEVICE CONTROLS
The Quick Access Device Control feature, available starting from Android 11, allows
users to access and control their connected devices quickly and easily. By simply long
pressing the power button, you can bring up the device controls instantly, all in one
place.
You can control external smart devices such as cameras, lights, and
thermostats from the Android power menu. These devices are displayed
under Device controls as templated widgets (see above). Currently, five
different device control widgets are available.

Android 11 comes with a new restriction feature called One-time permission. As the
name implies, you can limit permissions related to microphone, location or camera by
choosing an option called Only this time. By selecting this option in the dialog box, you
are granting an app a temporary one-time permission.
When the user tries to open the app or a feature (location, microphone or camera) for
the second time, it will ask for permission again.
ONE-TIME PERMISSION
The new Android 11 comes with a decent set of privacy
updates to give users a better control over sensitive
permissions to keep their devices more secure through
faster updates.
PERMISSIONS AUTO-RESET
BACKGROUND LOCATION
In February, Google announced that developers are required to get
approval to access background location in their app to prevent misuse. With
Android 11, it eases this imposition by providing developers more time to make
changes and will not be enforcing this policy for existing apps until 2021.

If you haven’t used an app for a long time, Android 11 protects your data by
automatically resetting all the runtime sensitive permissions that you had granted
earlier. The app would request permissions again the next time it is being used.
You have the option to enable/disable the auto-reset feature
In order to use this feature, head to Permissions,
when the App permissions setting screen loads,
you will see the option Remove permissions if app
isn’t used. Use the toggle to enable or disable.
