Welcome Portland Saturday Market Board Members Presented By: Tyler Bolin, Jessica Fogerty, Kyle Kinney, Jessica Meier, Anna Swenson (Taetzsch) (Music by: Trevor the Bucket Drummer)
Saturday Market Mission Statement  “…to provide an environment that      encourages the economic and artistic growth of emerging and accomplished      artisans. Central to this mission shall be to operate a marketplace. That      marketplace, and other market programs, shall honor craftsmanship, design      innovation, marketing ethics, and authenticity of product,” (Market History, Par. 1).
Portland Institute For Contemporary Art’s Philosophy Since 1995, PICA’s visual exhibition and performance programs have combined an energetic mix of multi-disciplinary national and international artists with Portland’s diverse regional talents and creativity, provided resources for artists to create new work through artist residencies, and engaged the minds of our local community, students, and art lovers through education and outreach activities (Philosophy, par. 1).
Moonstruck is committed to handcrafting each piece of chocolate with intricate care using ingredients of only the highest quality. (Who We Are, Moonstruck)
A New Partnership Moonstruck Chocolatier is a Portland-based company that has recently partnered with PICA to create the Local Artist Scholarship. (Google Maps)
Local Artist Scholarship As a part of PICA’s commitment to the Contemporary Arts this scholarship will provide new opportunities for Portland-area artists. (The Trophy, Liu)
Local Artist Scholarship Qualifications ,[object Object]
Less than $50,000 annual income
Applied or admitted to area art schoolPayout ,[object Object]
Four scholarships given to qualified students of $5,000 each,[object Object]
Donations from PICA sponsors will provide funds for booth rental and design. PICA volunteers will staff the booth.,[object Object]
What We Need From You ,[object Object],[object Object]
Secondly, we need you to make a sacrifice to your revenue The sales from donated chocolate bars would not cover the fees that the market requires. This would be considered a generous donation that would benefit Portland Contemporary Art. (I Kissed The Moon and Cried, Donachie)
Your Financial Contribution Daily Sales Fees ,[object Object]
Sunday: $30
Monthly Fees: $94Total for Year ,[object Object], $4,258.00
Your Financial Impact From the chart you can see that this donation would have little impact on annual revenue Source: Saturday Market
The Impact of Your Donation The impact of your generous donation will be increased by over 400%
We Will Greatly Appreciate Your Contribution We realize that even though it is a relatively small sacrifice, it will be noticeable to your bottom line. However, your contribution will give you more than just the benefit of knowing that you are doing good.
New Venue, New Opportunities You have been looking for a new venue that would allow for even more booths These extra booths would equal increased customers and revenue
Moonstruck Chocolate Will Bring New Customers Moonstruck is one of Oregon’s most recognized brands Their chocolates have won multiple awards and honors Their chocolates were even featured in gift bags for the 77th and 78th academy awards. (Our Chocolatier)
Moonstruck Chocolate would make a great addition to the market Patrons of Saturday Market would appreciate being able to purchase Moonstruck Chocolate at your venue (Home Page) (Chocolate Bars)
The Proposed Booth Will Also Attract the Attention of the Local Artist Community Portland area artists will want to help other artists in their community Saturday Market thrives on the contribution of these artists, as you say, “In spite of how much the market has grown, it is still, at heart, an artists community” (About us, Market History, Pas 4) (A Portland Art Cow)
Your Contribution Will Not Go Un-Noticed by PICA PICA recognizes all of its sponsors and gives them permanent recognition You will be given recognition as a Major Sponsors Only given to two others Will also increase artist community recognition
Moonstruck Will Give You Additional Recognition As a major local company Moonstruck will issue a press release highlighting your key contribution. (Drinking Chocolate Portland Style)
Everyone Involved Stands to Benefit (Who We Are) This partnership will give positive public relations to everyone involved (About Us) (Become a Member)
Moonstruck’s Benefits Moonstruck Chocolatier has been seeking a way to contribute to the community This highly publicized scholarship will bring positive recognition to their brand
Further Moonstruck Benefits Overall in this venture Moonstruck seeks to increase awareness of their products PICA’s Saturday Market booth will feature the Moonstruck Chocolatier brand name as well as offer flyers (Moonstruck Chocolate Factory Tour)
PICA Benefits -PICA has always sought to bolster the contemporary arts in Portland -Giving this opportunity to local artists will achieve this -Publicity for all PICA sponsored exhibits and galleries. Saturday Market patrons will be introduced to the many other PICA sponsored activities. (Money for Arts: Portland-area grant winners)
Let’s Not Forget Your Customers You have been dedicated to not only benefiting your members and vendors but also to bringing a richer experience to your customers
Portland Area Students Those who will receive the greatest advantage from this proposal are the students who will be awarded the Local Artist Scholarship This of course is our primary intention in this endeavor
Not Only Will the Three Partners Benefit… but everyone involved and affected by this proposal stands to make tremendous gains that will contribute to the welfare of the entire community.
