Juvenile Boating Class Analysis
Taking this class has made me informed in many areas in juvenile law that I have had little or no information about. Though I have learned so much in
this class, three specifics things I have learned are juvenile boating, DCS permanency plan, and wilderness camps.
When it comes to juvenile boating, before taking this class, I had never thought of this nor had I had any idea about how it worked. Anyone under
twelve years old and under that is in an opened boat or deck that is being used for recreational purposes in the water must wear a floatation device
that the U.S. Coast Guard approves of. The floatation device must be in great condition as well as properly sized and worn. It is illegal/unlawful for
anyone to operate a vessel if they are violating this. However, it does not apply to commercial vessels that are owned and operated by commercial
entities that charge for passenger fees. If there is a violation, it is a Class C misdemeanor that is punishable by a fine and no more than $50. If cited,
you have up to thirty days to provide proof of age and good cause shown. If legal proof of age is shown at the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

This plan exists so that children in DCS custody have their temporary needs met. This allows for children to be safely placed in a permanently
family quickly. However, this plan is not only limited to the actions above. It includes DCS, parents, and/or the child(rens) actions that needed to be
completed for them to stay in their forever home. As long as parental rights have not been terminated, parents (legal and biological) will be included
on in the permanency plan. If the child is six or older, the child's help will be asked for. If the child(ren) have TennCare the guardian has the power to
appeal the decisions that DCS provides. When a change in treatment or services are needed for them, the Juvenile Court has to approve it. Any problems
or concerns can be heard during the Court

A Boating Safety Course
Boating safety is an issue of great importance for people who spend a lot of time on the water. Once you've passed the required boat test and received
your necessary boating license, you can focus on the different elements of in–boat safety. A boating safety course is wise to take so you can get the
training necessary to stay safe on the water and make the most of your boat licence. Any boating license Ontario centre can steer you in the right
direction to take a safety test along with your regular boating course exam. Some of the topics you'll learn about in boating safety course include the
minimum amount of safety equipment allowed on your boat, how you should respond to emergencies on the water and other applicable regulations.
One important aspect of boating safety is to always be prepared before you take your boating license and head out onto the water. Inspect your boat
well so you know all the equipment is in working order, and check the weather report for your area, too. Let someone know where you'll be going
and be sure to bring enough fuel to get you there and back. Once the boat is ready to go, double–check that you have your boat licence and go practice
all the things you've learned from your boat test.
One thing your ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The boating license Ontario testing you do will highlight safe boating speeds as part of the overall boating course. If you decide to boat in a
commercial waterway, keep a safe distance away from large vessels to avoid any problems. Large boats are unable to change direction as quickly,
and may have trouble seeing you at all. Ask questions at your boating license Ontario office if you're unsure of how much distance is a safe distance.
When your boating course has been completed and your boating license is securely in hand, try your best to obey all of the safety tips so you can
have a safe and fun boating

Research Paper On First Time Boating
FIRST TIME TUBING One day we decided to go boating with our neighbor. First of all it took about an hour to get up to the lake then another 30
minutes to set up our spot. Although when we finally got the boat in the water we loaded 8 people then tied up the tube. At first we just drove the
boat around then we started to tube. I was nervous at first so I let a few people go before I did then I finally decided to go at first he took it slow
and i was doing good. Then when I told him to go faster he made some huge wakes and the tube was flying and I leaned in way too much and the
tube flipped on top of me, but I got back on the tube and started going again but this time I flew in the air and landed on the tube so hard my whole

Personal Narrative : Go Banana Boating
Never. Ever. Go Banana Boating.
If someone offered to take you on a ride on a long, inflatable, cylinder in the middle of the ocean it might sound intriguing at first, but once you think
about it, it is most likely not the best idea.
Over summer break this year, we went on a huge group trip to Aruba. There were people from all over the country and we got to do big group
activities every day. This particular day was a free day at the beach, where we could do whatever we wanted. There were boats you could ride– big and
small. You could see people who looked like little ants in the distance as they parasailed. There were sandy, wet life jackets strewn everywhere. We
watched people jet ski and bounce on water trampolines, people went tubing ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The driver then pulled the boat directly next to the tube so that they were perfectly parallel and she hopped on the boat like nothing had happened. Of
course this wasn't the brightest idea, because as soon as he started to go, the tube jerked and everyone flew off of it.
After struggling to get back on, everyone agreed to hold on and to not purposely fall off. This plan was going great until the driver shifted in front
of a cruise ship, which was now heading towards us. It was pretty far off in the distance, so that if you went straight you most likely wouldn't hit
it... but let 's just say our driver must not have been very experienced, because he had other plans. Holding on for dear life, we swerved all over the
place, hitting waves, and bouncing up and down. It was as if the once perfectly smooth blue waters salt had suddenly taken over burning everyone's
eyes and skin. Someone must have given up on holding on, because we heard a faint voice from the ocean that sounded like a scream saying,
"WAITTTTTTT...", until we could no longer hear it over the boats engines and the screaming children back on the shore.
All of us were too busy focusing on the body in the middle of the ocean, that we had not realized there was a huge wave coming directly at the side of
our boat.
Abigail screamed, "HOLD ON!"
Someone else responded with a muffled noise that sounded like they were trying to say something

Personal Narrative: The US Coast Guard Recreational Boating
Every so often in life we encounter an opportunity to take a shortcut, to circumvent the traditional path, and attempt to reach our goals without the
customary planning, patience, and hard work that invariably goes into any worthwhile endeavor. One such opportunity presented itself in the late
summer of 2007, when I was hired to deliver the 38–foot Island Packet cutter Guinevere from Tortola, in the British Virgin Islands, to Bradenton,
Florida. By then I had over thirty years' experience as a licensed captain, ocean yacht master, and certified sailing instructor, and so when I was
persuaded to take a shortcut through Passage Key Inlet and ran aground, I immediately realized I should, all along, have trusted my training and
instincts. I was... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This was no "mayday" call since there was no immediate threat to life or limb. However, urgent distress must have been more than evident in my
voice. Sea–Tow Tampa Bay in St. Petersburg answered my call within seconds. "Stand by. We'll have a tow
–boat with you in about 40 minutes" came
the ever–so–calm voice over the radio. I felt a deep sense of relief that help was on the way, then near panic when I thought about everything that
could go wrong in 40 minutes. By this time Guinevere was listing heavily to starboard. Either the water was getting shallower, or we were being
pushed further onto the sandbank by the incoming tide. My attempts to back out against the current only served to stir the sandy bottom, obscuring
what little visibility we had. Gavin quietly organized the crew to secure everything on deck and in the cabin below, which looked as if someone had
picked it up and shaken it like a cocktail

Boating Persuasive Speech
It's the beginning of another boating season, friends! As you start re–commissioning your boat, and take that cover off, did you realize that its time to
get a new cover? We've all been there, as well made as the tops are, they don't last forever. So its time too start looking. What are the best covers for
the money? Ask two boaters the same question, and for the most part you get two different answers. But when you are asking about the best choice in
boat covers, hands down most will answer with Sunbrella. The first thing that puts Sunbrella on the top of the list is it provides UV protection up
over 95%. Although not water proof, they are very water repellent, so as long as you have proper supports under it so the water runs off and the ... Show

They are disposable and can be remade as needed for playtime. Anyone can make their own paper boat using an 8 by 11 inch sheet of paper. The
following article demonstrate how to make your own standard paper boat: First, take an 8 by 11 inch sheet of paper and fold it in half from top to
bottom. Then fold the paper in half a second time from left to right, or right to left, and reopen it so that it lies flat again. A vertical crease should
be marked in the middle as a result of the fold. The folded edge of your paper should be facing away from you (upwards). Fold one corner of the
top folded edge diagonally towards the middle crease of your paper until the edge is aligned with the middle crease. Repeat this step with the other
corner. Your paper should now look a like large triangle with excess rectangular strips of paper at the bottom on the front and back side. The
second step is to eliminate the excess bottom strips on the front and back side of your paper by folding them upwards on their corresponding side.
Fold the front strip upwards while leaving the back strip alone. Then turn over your paper and fold the second remaining strip upwards as well. Do
not fold both strips to one side because your paper will need an opening at the bottom. After folding the strips upwards, you should have a pointed hat
with a flat rectangular brim. Hide the corners of the hat's flat brim by folding them backwards – or inwards

It was a hot sunny Saturday morning when I was privileged enough to meet the one and only Louise. Not only an accomplished medal professional
but a women raising awareness of a disease which is claiming the lives of many women each year, on average,48 people will be diagnosed with breast
cancer every day. I had arranged this meeting to find what her drive is and why she has such a passion for dragon boating, as well as what breast cancer
has done for her.

had one patient and one friend who were both in the dragon boats and they cornered me over the carrots in Coles and challenging me going "You
have to come and join" and I'm going "no no" they put so much pressure on me that I agreed to go. I got dragged along thinking I don't do boats, I
don't do early mornings, I don't do sport and it took thirty–seconds in the boat to get me totally and completely addicted. I just got in the boat, it was so

Make sure you always wear a life jacket when you are on the deck or in an open boat. This is especially important if you plan on flying solo.
2.Be sure to dress properly if you want to participate in late–season boating. You can stay snug as a bug if you dress correctly for the cold.
3.Invest in a good pair of ski goggles, this will help protect your eyes from the cold wind, and will keep your eyes from tearing up.
4.Have on you signal flares, a signaling device (for visual distress signals and emergency locator beacon), and an emergency communication device.
This can be a hand held VHF radio, or even a cell phone, just make sure you place it in a waterproof bag.
5.Have a re–boarding device available on board the boat. This can be a foot sling, ladder, or a swim step.
6.Invest in a float–coat, they have a built–in PFD to help keep you warm and comfortable. This will also act as a floatation device in case you go
overboard, so you don't have to force on a traditional life vest.
7.If you are riding solo, make sure you have an engine cut–off device installed. This will ensure that your boat doesn't drive off if you happen to fall
overboard for any reason.
8.It is VERY important for cold water boaters to have an inflatable life raft or dingy, as well as an immersion (survival) suit, on

Luncheon Of The Boating Party And Pierre-Aguste Renoir
To describe, and analyze any period of our marvelous World Art History, it is crucial to find a piece of art to motivate our lines. The Impressionism is
not the exception, that is why Luncheon of the Boating Party, and Pierre–Aguste Renoir, are the principal characters of the paragraphs that you are
going to read.
Any person interested in Arts who heard the term impressionism, immediately think about a unique art movement that expresses less detail than the
previous periods, however, give to the viewers the opportunity to read their feelings between the combination of the brain and heart. This was the first
sentence that came to my mind in the moment when I was right in front of the Pierre–Aguste Renoir work, at the Phillip Collection.

Why Teens Should Not Be Sailing By Themselves
Introductory Paragraph: So, if you had a teenage child would you let them go into a dangerous environment by themselves with no one else but the air
around them. Probably not, and with more, and more teens dying from boating accidents it has been concluded that teens should not be boating, or
sailing by themselves, or with another teen. Stance: It is not safe for teens to boating, or sailing by themselves. Thesis Statement: Things like not being
able to judge bad situations, not being capable of controlling everything on a boat by themselves , and not being able to judge whether something is
dangerous or not all contribute to this statement, that teens should not be sailing by themselves. Body Paragraph 1: The first and main reason teens...

Most teens in the modern world cannot judge if a situation is dangerous or not. Even if they don't want to do the activity. Things like fishing when a
storm is approaching can look like a fiesta waiting to happen. Or a dangerous boat race can look like a stroll in the park. As said by "The Washington
Post" "The boys were believed to be heading in the direction of the Bahamas, but their mothers disputed that idea during their appearance Tuesday on
NBC. Black said the families." This proves that teens indeed do not think before doing something. Bad judgment skills, and a non–mature brain can all
contribute to things this. This can result in accident that could have been avoided really easily. Things that are dangerous can look fun to most teens.
Plus all teens can agree on it. Even if the teen hasn't done anything dangerous in their life. Thus proving teens are not capable of sailing/boating bu
themselves. Rebuttal: On the other hand though other people think it is safe for teens to sail by themselves. They think some teens with the proper
training are even better than adults. Like in Abby Sunderland's case. They think that even a teen can be responsible enough to control a boat by
themselves. Another one of the larger reasons is that just because a teen isn't responsible for small things, doesn't mean they arent for larger things.

The Boating Party Painting Analysis
The oil on a canvas The Boating Party was done by Mary Cassatt. The painting shows a total of three people on a boat. There's a man who is rowing
the boat and a woman with a small child in her lap. The three of them are dressed very nice the woman has on a dress and hat, the man has on a suit
and hat, and the small child has on a dress, nice shoes, socks and a hat. They are the only ones out on the water. The painting is a realistic representation
of a woman, a man and small child enjoying a boat ride. Cassatt used several different principles in her artwork. The water is a bright blue, but the
boat is yellow and white so it stands out amongst the body of water. That's a wonderful way to show contrast. The woman's dress takes on almost a
checkerboard pattern. The dress is the same from the top to bottom so it sets a steady rhythm with the different colors and shapes Cassatt used. A lot
of emphasis was put into this particular painting. Cassatt artwork is oil on a canvas. It falls into the painting process. There are many different kinds
of paintings. Usually oil paint is used on a cloth support such as a canvas or linen. It's also flexible paint. Artist chose to use oil paint because it's slow

Industry Analysis Paper: The Boating Industry
Intro and Description:
The boating industry ( SIC code 3732 and NAICS code: 336612) is a collection of firms that works predominantly in the business of manufacturing
boats. Within this particular NAICS entry are manufacturers that specialize in the production of watercraft, not in shipyards, for the purpose of
personal customer use; Including: classic boats, airboats, inflatable plastic and inflatable rubber boats, sailboats, yachts, underwater remote operated
vehicles, pleasure boats and motor boats, just to name a few.

The main thing that separates competitors today is price, delivery time, and quantity. If a company does not measure up to its competition in these three
areas then they run the risk of losing business.
Potential Entrants: To open a business in this industry requires a large amount of start–up capital and is quite difficult to acquire the needed inputs due
to high prices. In addition, it is hard to get in contact with the suppliers and government agencies needed to successfully run the business. New entrants
also face the challenge of attracting and retaining customers. The business is currently in the growing phase with multiple firms already pining for
customer attention or have acquired a large pool of loyal customers. That being said the threat of new entry is low to this industry. Starting a new
company is so difficult that it is unlikely that firms in this industry will pay new entrants much mind. More likely than not firms trying to enter the
industry will not be seen much of a threat. However, it would be wise for those already active to be on their guard to make sure that they don't
underestimate their new competitions potential to outwit them.
Power of Buyers/ Customers:
The main buyer in this industry has been upper–class White males. More specifically Baby boomers. This demographic has slowly gone down over

Over the years there has been many unfortunate boating accidents; going offshore, attempting to sail around the world, and even during lessons! This

"Should I send a teenager who has no experience with crisis out into the largest wilderness in the world, completely surrounded on all sides by
something that will kill them if they get in it?" Teens should not sail because even though you can see the surface of the water, you don't know what
lies beneath. The water can be calm, but at the same time can be vicious.
The boaters passed the boating test, but the test doesn't put you in a real–life crisis. "Teenagers can spend years on the water and still be emotionally
and mentally unprepared to deal with emergency situations." Even though they might be prepared physically, they might not be emotionally. For
example when you hit the water, you can barely move, because the water is cold and you're in shock.
When a person boats, it's hard not to get caught up in the scene."You can see the shore, it's beautiful, you can get caught up in the color of the
water and the dolphins and the birds, and you feel so much a part of all of it. If you get caught up in the wonder, you forget this place can also kill
you." The story, Rogue Wave, is a good example of that. Two Florida teens were boating and it was a beautiful day. Out of nowhere the wall of water

Physics of Boating Essay
The first thing you should know is the physics behind a boat, seeing how you can't have a boating adventure without one. To keep it simple, let's
check out the main thing you should know about a boat: Buoyancy. Buoyancy, by definition, is the upward force exerted by a liquid on any immersed
object. If the force of the liquid on the object is greater than that of the object on the liquid then the object will float. In other words buoyancy is
dependent upon the density of the liquid and the volume of the object submerged.
Buoyancy:
Fb= d*g*V
Where Fb= the magnitude of the buoyant force
d= density of the liquid, g= force of gravity (9.8 m/s^2), V= volume of the submerged object

237) Translation: The tides are caused by the gravitational attraction between the earth andmoon. There are two low tides and two high tides each day.
Low tide is when you smell dead fish. High tide is when the smell is somewhat less stinky.
The bald eagle is not an uncommon sight when boating in Southeast Alaska. It is a massive bird that flies with the greatest of ease. Lets take a
look at the casually oversimplified physics behind the flight of a bird. Basically, birds wings are not flat but are shaped like an aerofoil. "Air
passes over or under the wing as the bird moves forward, or as the wind blows. The air that moves over the top of the wing has further to travel to
get across the wing, thus it speeds up. This causes the pressure to drop because the same amount of air is exerting its pressure over a greater area.
Therefore, any given point experiences less pressure. This effectively sucks the wing up. Meanwhile the air going below the wing experiences the
opposite effect. It slows down, generates more pressure and effectively pushes the wing up." Hence a bird with air moving over its wings is pulled up
from above and pushed up from below.

Now that momentum is gone; however, sport boat manufacturers are optimistic about the next ten years. A tidal wave of retiring baby boomers could
offer substantial new buyers when the economy rebounds. The boating industry in general forecasts better days ahead. D. Long Term Industry Outlook
There is a bright future for the sport boat industry; the market as a whole is expected to grow in the near future. In 2006 the sport boat market had
a total value of $6.9 billion; that value has climbed by 9.3% each year, and that trend is expected to continue for the next 3 years. This means that
the sport boat market will be worth $10.1 billion by 2014. This industry rebound is dependent upon the recovery of the market and a general change
in attitude of banks to lend more money for boat purchases. In addition to this overall market growth and economic recovery, we can expect sport boat

expected to increase causing the overall market to increase at a rate greater than the expected 9.3%. With this explosion in the sport boat market,
positive economic activity, and the increased willingness of banks to grant loans, it is expected that the sport boat market will expand beyond all future

Boating Safely in the Water Essay
Boating safely in the water

November 7, 2011
Boating safely in the water All favorite outdoor activities should be done safely? One all–time favorite activity enjoyed by many is boating on the
water. Whether it is a twelve foot raft, or a forty foot yacht, there are many important items to consider before leaving the dock. For example, is there a
personal flotation device for each passenger, to include the operator? What about alcoholic beverages?
Did anyone bring any along or had anything to drink earlier; hope not, it is "illegal to drink alcoholic beverages and operate a boat in all fifty States"
(Carro, 2010). What about fire extinguishers? Are they on board? Are they full? Are they mounted in an accessible... Show more content on

Necessitating the use of life preservers is not limited to the United States; one Canadian official fined a resident $200 for not having a life preserver
aboard his boat (Ballingall, 2011). This problem often occurs, because many people are over confident in their ability to swim away from a mishap, or
think ending up overboard only happens to other people.
Alcohol can distort an operator's ability to drive a boat as well as a car. There are many hidden dangers in the water that require an immediate sober
response, for instance, floating logs from old boating docks often litter the waters. US Coast Guard statistics recorded "three hundred eight boating
accidents which resulted in one hundred fatalities and 300 injuries in 2009" (Kelley, 2007).
Furthermore, "Boating under the influence laws (BUI) are federally enforced by the US Coast Guard" (Dunlap, 2011). These laws are in force for the
protection of all boaters. Another good example of boating under the influence is it can distract from paying attention to the depth finder. The depth
finder tells the operator how deep the water is beneath the boat. At twenty to thirty miles per hour this can result in a sudden stop, resulting in extensive
damage to the vessel, causing personal injury, or possibly death. Fire safety is another important

Process Essay On How To Purchase A Boat Analysis
Purchasing a boat is a big investment that you need to think through carefully. Here are a few things you need to take into consideration and do before
you purchase your first boat.
Go Boating
Before your purchase your own boat, you need to make sure that you actually enjoy the process of boating. That includes getting the boat ready, taking
it out on the water, and cleaning it up at the end of your trip.
If you have any friends that own boats, see if they will take you out. If possible, try to go out on the water with friends who own different size crafts
so you can get a real feel for the different types of boats and options that are out their.
If you don't know that many people who have their own boat that you can borrow or go out on day trips with, rent a boat. You can generally rent
boats from your local marina. Once again, rent or charter a variety of different types of boats so you can get a feel for what you like. If you find a style
of boat you really like, rent it a few times to make sure it is something you would be interested in long–term. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Do not go with the intention of purchasing a boat your first time. In fact, leave your credit cards at home so you are not tempted to make an impulse
purchase.
Use your first few boat shows as learning opportunities. This is a great chance for you to see what brand new boats look like and what the cutting
edge features are on boats today. Talk to any builders who are present, and ask any questions you have about the construction or features of boats you
are interested in. Collect information and do follow up research on the boats you see at home.
Boat shows will allow you to see a wide variety of boats and learn more about what you want. This information will help you make a wise purchasing
decision down the road.

Pros And Basics Of BUI
All U.S. states have laws against using alcohol and drugs while operating a boat or any other watercraft. In addition, the U.S. Coast Guard oversees
federal laws against drinking on a boat and arrests people for boating under the influence, or BUI. Conviction of a BUI crime is a serious offense, and
it can result in jail time, large monetary fines, suspension of boating and driver's licenses, and increases in auto and boat insurance premiums.
Increases in BUI Arrests Laws against BUI have been enacted across the country, because operating a boat while intoxicated leads to accidents, deaths,
and property damage. The Coast Guard tracks statistics regarding boating accidents and reported 4,158 accidents and 626 deaths ... Show more content

States without formal marine law enforcement orders may also set–up BUI checkpoints for questioning and inspecting boat operators and passengers
for intoxication while boating. BUI checkpoints operate in much the same way as roadside DUI checkpoints, and this type of enforcement is leading to
an increasing number of BUI arrests and convictions. [5].
Basics of BUI Charges The crime of boating under the influence is defined in most states as operating any form of watercraft on a body of water with
a blood alcohol content of .08 percent or above. A few states define a BUI charge as having ablood alcohol content of .1 percent or above.
In some states it is an additional crime if there is a minor onboard the boat, especially if the minor has a blood alcohol level above .01 percent.
Elements of BUI Charges A person can be convicted of a BUI offense when they are operating any watercraft and are intoxicated to any significant
degree by alcohol, drugs, or both.
In most cases, this involves a blood alcohol level of .08 percent or higher for recreational vessels and .04 percent of higher for commercial vessels.
The crime of BUI applies to all forms of watercraft, including sailboats, speedboats, yachts, fishing boats, jet skis, and commercial vessels.

Short Story On Banana Boating
"BANANA BOAT!" The most wonderful thing to do in the water is to go banana boating. The rush of the wind and water is worth all the times you
were scared to mount the inflatable in the first place. That is, until you get off the boat. Then you realize that those things in the water is why, it is why
you didn't do this yourself.
"Come on Rori! You chicken or what?"
I am not chicken, I will tell you that. But I was scared. Scared of the water activities. I was at Camp Silver Beach. My cabin was strolling into the bay.
My friend Hannah Banana had plans for me and her. She planned for me to go on the banana boat with her. I heard stories of the legendary banana
boats. Some didn't end well. As soon as I was about to decline Banana pushed me into the line. I decided to go with it. We walked out to the boats
and mounted them slowly. The boat drivers in the front were telling us about hand signals and how to go faster. They started slow. I was the first one
who put my hand up to go faster.
...
It was the second day of my boating quest. Me and Banana went again. It was the same as last time. We went faster and faster, wind in my face and
water on my feet. Everything was perfect. It felt like a dream. As soon as the boat stopped though, I regretted every second of it.
"OW! No! Help, stop it!"
Banana needed help. She ran away from the spot of danger quickly and not so gracefully.
"Are you ok? I could of called our cabin counselor for help!"
Banana quickly declined the help. She obviously had a high pain tolerance. On the other hand, a small touch would make me cry for help.
...
Banana looked scared of the water. She wanted out quickly. I decided to jump out and help her walk back to the sandy shore.
"You don't need to help me! Come off on the other side of the boat!"
"Nonsense Banana! This is the fastest way to help you"
I'm a moron aren't I! I stepped into the water and felt a tickle on my legs. The tickle was a twisted touch. It soon turned onto a sting that burned my legs
to a crisp.
"Oh my god. OUCH! Help! SUGER HONEY ICED TEA THAT HURTS!"
"I told yo– OW! So..."
Our cabin counselor ran over. She told us that she would walk us back. Thank god she could see the stinging anomaly that swam through the waters.

Jeanette Winterson Boating for Beginners
According to David Lodge realistic literature is based on " their obsession with form to neglect the content and the third person omniscient mode is
more often used to assert or imply the existence of society or history, than of heaven and hell. Therefore, modernist fiction eschews the straight
chronological ordering of realistic material and the use of reliable omniscient intrusive narrator". In her novel, Jeanette Winterson uses a "method of
multiple points of view" and her novel "tends towards a fluid and complex handling of time, involving much cross–reference backwards and forwards
across the chronological span of the action". We can reinforce this idea by quoting Linda Hutcheon, who says: "the postmodern artist was no longer the

It is clear Noah who masters the discourse. Because the revision of the Genesis is presented in a dialogue between Bunny Mix and Noah, Noah using

film director and inventor of the whole story, he is perfectly conscious of his power.
Not only Jeanette Winterson re–writes the story of the bible using puns and metaphors, but she also succeeds in caricatures all the characters of the

Renoir's Luncheon of the Boating Party Essay examples
Luncheon of the Boating Party Luncheon of the Boating Party is a European artwork painted in 1880–1881 by French Impressionist, Pierre Auguste
Renoir. In traditional Impressionist style, Renoir depicted a scene from modern life and based it in a place he knew well – the Restaurant Fournaise.
Chatou was one of Renoir's beloved settings and Luncheon of the Boating Party is a romanticized portrait of his friends enjoying a Sunday afternoon
on the balcony of the restaurant. His intention was to take a normal scene and create a modern day party that portrayed the youth and beauty of his
friends. The arrangement of Luncheon of the Boating Party represents a relatively new Impressionist movement as well as the changing character of

But even the men in the white tank tops with more flesh exposed, their hats are fine, and their body language is relaxed and do not portray that of a
servant. I noticed the sail and row boats in the distance, the women surrounding the table; laughter, wine and company, and obvious friendship, but
maybe also boredom. Was this a pre or post boating trip as the title hints? Was this painting staged, or maybe even a band and live music playing to the
side? After closely looking over the portrait, what is most interesting to me is that contrary to the large number of people in the painting, no one's gazes
meet, showing no connections between the people, although most are smiling. Wave– After doing research on this portrait, I find that the setting of
Luncheon of the Boating Party is at the upstairs terrace of the Masion Fournaise restaurant on an island in the Seine at Chatou. The painting conveys a
casual and contemporary gathering of people sharing food, wine, and conversation on a balcony overlooking the Seine. The people in Renoir's
paintings are actually personal friends of his. The woman in the lower left is Aline Charigot, Renoir's future wife. Charigot was clearly painted with the
most detail and coloring, and holds the most presence in the painting which could be a hint as to Renoir's fancy of her. Standing behind her, leaning on
the railing, is Alphonse Fournaise, the son of the restaurant's owner. In the

These safety tips are easy to remember and will ensure they stay safe when you're out on the water during family fun time. Every child who is
going to be boating needs to know that they should always wear a life jacket. The best PFD for smaller children is the one that comes with a loop
and a pillow that sits behind their head. If your child is bigger, then a standard PFD for their size is perfectly fine. Instill in them the importance of
never taking their life jacket off. Get them into the water to show them that their life jacket will support them in the water and keep them from
sinking. Explain to children that their ability to swim in a swimming pool does not mean they are not in danger of sinking in lakes or oceans. Wakes,
waves and wind can make swimming in larger, natural bodies of water a challenge – and sometimes impossible – even for adults. Teach them that each
and every snap, tie or whatever keeps their life jacket attached to them is always clipped into the proper place. Also make sure that it is tight
enough so that the life jacket does not float up over their chins or heads. When you are in rough water or just driving around, teach your child the
importance of staying seated at all times. Let them know that if they are standing and you hit a large wave, wake or unforeseen obstacle in the water,
they may fall overboard or get hurt on the boat itself. If you have a houseboat or a boat with a cuddy, never leave your child unattended in these areas
while the boat is in motion. If they are in an indoor area of the boat, still teach them the importance of sitting in rough waters and make sure they
understand that they still need their life jackets on. Some parents and adults will let children help them drive the boat. This is fine, however, teach your
child to never touch the steering wheels, throttle or any other buttons or levers on the boat without your

Artists Themes In The Boating Party By Mary Cassatt
Art is a way for artists to express themselves through various techniques. These techniques allow individuals to discover the artists' themes within their
paintings. The oil painting, "The Boating Party," by Mary Cassatt reflects the motherly and protective role along with nature itself, during the time
period of 1894 ("The Boating Party"). Some themes that can be evaluated within art include: iconographical, biographical, feminist, contextual,
psychological, and formalism. This painting by Mary Cassatt portrays her personal experiences, the role of a strong woman, and historical context.
Cassatt grew up in America and then spent the majority of her adult life in France learning about art and creating masterpieces. In Pennsylvania, she
was not learning and advancing in her painting career, so she went to France to become a better artist. Back in her time, traveling was a key
component of getting a good education. During this time in her life, most women got married early and started a family, but Cassatt wanted to be an
artist and followed this dream. She went on to meet many famous artists and painters during this time. She also learned most of her techniques from her
mentor, GГ©rГґme, who was a highly regarded art teacher focusing on academicism ("Mary Stevenson Cassatt"). One challenge she faced in life was
that she was unable to have children, so within her art pieces, she combines a child and a motherly figure. Her personal experiences in life are shown

tip for staying safe out on the water is to always wear a life jacket while boating. You should make sure that there are enough personal flotation devices

The fire extinguisher should be mounted somewhere readily accessible and away from the galley or the engine where a fire is more likely to start. In
addition to fire hazards, you can encounter problems from you gasoline system as well. If your boat uses gasoline for electrical generation, mechanical

an exhaust opening) or a powered ventilation system. Check with the Coast Guard for information on your boat. In order to avoid carbon monoxide
poisoning, carry a carbon monoxide detector. The gas, which is odorless and colorless, can kill in minutes. Sources of carbon monoxide include
improperly vented exhaust or combustion, ranging from fires to barbecue grills. Before you head out on the water, always check the weather
forecast. Calm seas can turn into rough waters. Listen carefully to all weather and storm advisories. Your life raft should be checked annually to

Bowling, Boating, and Bodies: Egyptian Culture and its Impact Imagine for a moment you are in Ancient Egypt. The air is hot and dry, the wind

thousands of years to come. The Egyptians were responsible for a variety of aspects of our modern life, from some of our sources of entertainment even

for millennia to come. Essentially, the ancient Egyptians were significant to the history of the world and to our modern time because of their advances
in technology, entertainment, and language. In terms of technology, the Ancient Egyptians were without a doubt the most advanced of their time. To
begin, the most tangible and obvious evidence still present today is their architecture. The Egyptians employed a multitude of advanced architectural
techniques, ranging from ornate pillars to gargoyles (Reshafim). Even arches developed, and, though not quite as prolific and well–designed as that of

Comparing The Painting, Luncheon Of The Boating Party
Pierre–Auguste Renoir, "Luncheon of the Boating Party" &
Caravaggio, "Narcissus"
Similarities:
1. The first similarity, I found is that both paintings appear to be portraying an event as it is happening, similar to a photo.
2. The second similarity, I found is that both paintings use colors that may best describe the context of the artists as the paintings were created.
3. The final similarity, I found is that without knowing the artists history, it would appear that both paintings were based on social upbringings.
Differences:
1.Firstly, the painting "Luncheon of the Boating Party" would best be described to me as a genre painting .The reason I say this is because, when
reading the story behind the artwork it states that "Luncheon of the Boating Party was intended to replicate everyday modern life" which means, he
based his art work on facts about life. While the painting "Narcissus" states that "The story of Narcissus comes from Greco–Roman mythology" which
means that the story is not proven to be true.
2. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The next difference I found between these two were the content the artist tells. While reading this quote "Narcissus stayed beside the stream gazing at
his reflected paramour in vain, neglecting even to eat or drink." I found that the picture has to do with Narcissus falling in love with his reflection in
the puddle of water. While in the story behind ""Luncheon of the Boating Party" it states that "This canvas shows the artist creatively using clothing
and scenery to portray a typical sunny afternoon gathering of friends." The difference between the two artists is one is focused on himself, while in the
other the artist is focused on

I chose to write my paper over the importance of transportation to leisure in Renoir's Luncheon of the Boating Party. This paintings setting takes
place in the suburbs about a half hour train ride away from the city, and can be accessed by boat. The fact that this restaurant can be accessed by
boat is one reason the title is, Luncheon of the Boating Party. The 19th century certainly was a booming time for new inventions in public
transportation . The interest in tourism and travel were becoming apparent to many businessmen and government officials, this interest led to the
many successful forms of transportation that popped up in the 19th century. The steamboat, followed by the passenger train, cabriolet, omnibus,
and bicycles were all replacing the slow ways of the past which were travel by horse drawn carriages, and walking to the desired destination. The
use of passenger trains began being utilized as early as 1837. Renoir's Luncheon of the Boating Party takes place around thirty minutes outside of

"Luncheon of the Boating Party" by Pierre–Auguste Renoir is one of the most renowned paintings. The painting is significant to the age of
impressionism; this movement in France took place in 1870's–1880's. Impressionism is identified through the strokes, colors and light that is present in
the piece. "Luncheon of the Boating Party" depicts the identity of impressionism during the bridge of the 19th to the 20th century. "Luncheon of the
Boating Party" is composited of a variety of different physical properties. The piece is large in size, with the height of the painting, 130 by 173 cm, on
an oil canvas. Renoir's uses brush strokes to convey the image. He uses soft and smooth lines to blend the colors, and he layers them to create texture.
The composition has a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Once you look at Renoir's painting, you immediately notice the colors. The piece involves a variety of different colors not only separately but also
combined constructing different skin tones, and complexions. The surface is dominated by contrasted colors of soft and smooth variations of
colors, crisp accents along with warm and cool colors as well as light and dark tone all working together. These colors include, blue, brown, pink,
yellow, orange, green and red. The colors of the women's faces, for example, the blush color added to their cheeks, conjure an element of intimacy to
the painting. Renoir is known for invoking moods from his subjects rather than stories. Before this time period these colors were not typically
experimented with, which is why paintings of Impressionism maintain a unique brightness. The piece looks like it is necessary a sketch is drawn to
create the image, however Renoir like many other Impressionists did not plan their work ahead but rather developed compositions as they painted .
The canvas captures a real event–taking place, however it cannot be described as realism because of the textures previously

Juvenile Boating Class Analysis

  • 1. Juvenile Boating Class Analysis Taking this class has made me informed in many areas in juvenile law that I have had little or no information about. Though I have learned so much in this class, three specifics things I have learned are juvenile boating, DCS permanency plan, and wilderness camps. When it comes to juvenile boating, before taking this class, I had never thought of this nor had I had any idea about how it worked. Anyone under twelve years old and under that is in an opened boat or deck that is being used for recreational purposes in the water must wear a floatation device that the U.S. Coast Guard approves of. The floatation device must be in great condition as well as properly sized and worn. It is illegal/unlawful for anyone to operate a vessel if they are violating this. However, it does not apply to commercial vessels that are owned and operated by commercial entities that charge for passenger fees. If there is a violation, it is a Class C misdemeanor that is punishable by a fine and no more than $50. If cited, you have up to thirty days to provide proof of age and good cause shown. If legal proof of age is shown at the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This plan exists so that children in DCS custody have their temporary needs met. This allows for children to be safely placed in a permanently family quickly. However, this plan is not only limited to the actions above. It includes DCS, parents, and/or the child(rens) actions that needed to be completed for them to stay in their forever home. As long as parental rights have not been terminated, parents (legal and biological) will be included on in the permanency plan. If the child is six or older, the child's help will be asked for. If the child(ren) have TennCare the guardian has the power to appeal the decisions that DCS provides. When a change in treatment or services are needed for them, the Juvenile Court has to approve it. • 2. A Boating Safety Course Boating safety is an issue of great importance for people who spend a lot of time on the water. Once you've passed the required boat test and received your necessary boating license, you can focus on the different elements of in–boat safety. A boating safety course is wise to take so you can get the training necessary to stay safe on the water and make the most of your boat licence. Any boating license Ontario centre can steer you in the right direction to take a safety test along with your regular boating course exam. Some of the topics you'll learn about in boating safety course include the minimum amount of safety equipment allowed on your boat, how you should respond to emergencies on the water and other applicable regulations. One important aspect of boating safety is to always be prepared before you take your boating license and head out onto the water. Inspect your boat well so you know all the equipment is in working order, and check the weather report for your area, too. Let someone know where you'll be going and be sure to bring enough fuel to get you there and back. Once the boat is ready to go, double–check that you have your boat licence and go practice all the things you've learned from your boat test. One thing your ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The boating license Ontario testing you do will highlight safe boating speeds as part of the overall boating course. If you decide to boat in a commercial waterway, keep a safe distance away from large vessels to avoid any problems. Large boats are unable to change direction as quickly, and may have trouble seeing you at all. Ask questions at your boating license Ontario office if you're unsure of how much distance is a safe distance. When your boating course has been completed and your boating license is securely in hand, try your best to obey all of the safety tips so you can have a safe and fun boating ... • 3. Research Paper On First Time Boating FIRST TIME TUBING One day we decided to go boating with our neighbor. First of all it took about an hour to get up to the lake then another 30 minutes to set up our spot. Although when we finally got the boat in the water we loaded 8 people then tied up the tube. At first we just drove the boat around then we started to tube. I was nervous at first so I let a few people go before I did then I finally decided to go at first he took it slow and i was doing good. Then when I told him to go faster he made some huge wakes and the tube was flying and I leaned in way too much and the tube flipped on top of me, but I got back on the tube and started going again but this time I flew in the air and landed on the tube so hard my whole front body turned ... • 4. Personal Narrative : Go Banana Boating Never. Ever. Go Banana Boating. If someone offered to take you on a ride on a long, inflatable, cylinder in the middle of the ocean it might sound intriguing at first, but once you think about it, it is most likely not the best idea. Over summer break this year, we went on a huge group trip to Aruba. There were people from all over the country and we got to do big group activities every day. This particular day was a free day at the beach, where we could do whatever we wanted. There were boats you could ride– big and small. You could see people who looked like little ants in the distance as they parasailed. There were sandy, wet life jackets strewn everywhere. We watched people jet ski and bounce on water trampolines, people went tubing ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The driver then pulled the boat directly next to the tube so that they were perfectly parallel and she hopped on the boat like nothing had happened. Of course this wasn't the brightest idea, because as soon as he started to go, the tube jerked and everyone flew off of it. After struggling to get back on, everyone agreed to hold on and to not purposely fall off. This plan was going great until the driver shifted in front of a cruise ship, which was now heading towards us. It was pretty far off in the distance, so that if you went straight you most likely wouldn't hit it... but let 's just say our driver must not have been very experienced, because he had other plans. Holding on for dear life, we swerved all over the place, hitting waves, and bouncing up and down. It was as if the once perfectly smooth blue waters salt had suddenly taken over burning everyone's eyes and skin. Someone must have given up on holding on, because we heard a faint voice from the ocean that sounded like a scream saying, "WAITTTTTTT...", until we could no longer hear it over the boats engines and the screaming children back on the shore. All of us were too busy focusing on the body in the middle of the ocean, that we had not realized there was a huge wave coming directly at the side of our boat. Abigail screamed, "HOLD ON!" • 5. Personal Narrative: The US Coast Guard Recreational Boating Every so often in life we encounter an opportunity to take a shortcut, to circumvent the traditional path, and attempt to reach our goals without the customary planning, patience, and hard work that invariably goes into any worthwhile endeavor. One such opportunity presented itself in the late summer of 2007, when I was hired to deliver the 38–foot Island Packet cutter Guinevere from Tortola, in the British Virgin Islands, to Bradenton, Florida. By then I had over thirty years' experience as a licensed captain, ocean yacht master, and certified sailing instructor, and so when I was persuaded to take a shortcut through Passage Key Inlet and ran aground, I immediately realized I should, all along, have trusted my training and instincts. I was... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This was no "mayday" call since there was no immediate threat to life or limb. However, urgent distress must have been more than evident in my voice. Sea–Tow Tampa Bay in St. Petersburg answered my call within seconds. "Stand by. We'll have a tow –boat with you in about 40 minutes" came the ever–so–calm voice over the radio. I felt a deep sense of relief that help was on the way, then near panic when I thought about everything that could go wrong in 40 minutes. By this time Guinevere was listing heavily to starboard. Either the water was getting shallower, or we were being pushed further onto the sandbank by the incoming tide. My attempts to back out against the current only served to stir the sandy bottom, obscuring what little visibility we had. Gavin quietly organized the crew to secure everything on deck and in the cabin below, which looked as if someone had picked it up and shaken it like a cocktail ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Boating Persuasive Speech It's the beginning of another boating season, friends! As you start re–commissioning your boat, and take that cover off, did you realize that its time to get a new cover? We've all been there, as well made as the tops are, they don't last forever. So its time too start looking. What are the best covers for the money? Ask two boaters the same question, and for the most part you get two different answers. But when you are asking about the best choice in boat covers, hands down most will answer with Sunbrella. The first thing that puts Sunbrella on the top of the list is it provides UV protection up over 95%. They are disposable and can be remade as needed for playtime. Anyone can make their own paper boat using an 8 by 11 inch sheet of paper. The following article demonstrate how to make your own standard paper boat: First, take an 8 by 11 inch sheet of paper and fold it in half from top to bottom. Then fold the paper in half a second time from left to right, or right to left, and reopen it so that it lies flat again. A vertical crease should be marked in the middle as a result of the fold. The folded edge of your paper should be facing away from you (upwards). Fold one corner of the top folded edge diagonally towards the middle crease of your paper until the edge is aligned with the middle crease. Repeat this step with the other corner. Your paper should now look a like large triangle with excess rectangular strips of paper at the bottom on the front and back side. The second step is to eliminate the excess bottom strips on the front and back side of your paper by folding them upwards on their corresponding side. Fold the front strip upwards while leaving the back strip alone. Then turn over your paper and fold the second remaining strip upwards as well. Do not fold both strips to one side because your paper will need an opening at the bottom. After folding the strips upwards, you should have a pointed hat with a flat rectangular brim. Hide the corners of the hat's flat brim by folding them backwards – or inwards ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 11. Why Teens Should Not Be Sailing By Themselves Introductory Paragraph: So, if you had a teenage child would you let them go into a dangerous environment by themselves with no one else but the air around them. Probably not, and with more, and more teens dying from boating accidents it has been concluded that teens should not be boating, or sailing by themselves, or with another teen. Stance: It is not safe for teens to boating, or sailing by themselves. Thesis Statement: Things like not being able to judge bad situations, not being capable of controlling everything on a boat by themselves , and not being able to judge whether something is dangerous or not all contribute to this statement, that teens should not be sailing by themselves. Even if they don't want to do the activity. Things like fishing when a storm is approaching can look like a fiesta waiting to happen. Or a dangerous boat race can look like a stroll in the park. As said by "The Washington Post" "The boys were believed to be heading in the direction of the Bahamas, but their mothers disputed that idea during their appearance Tuesday on NBC. Black said the families." This proves that teens indeed do not think before doing something. Bad judgment skills, and a non–mature brain can all contribute to things this. This can result in accident that could have been avoided really easily. Things that are dangerous can look fun to most teens. Plus all teens can agree on it. Even if the teen hasn't done anything dangerous in their life. Thus proving teens are not capable of sailing/boating bu themselves. Rebuttal: On the other hand though other people think it is safe for teens to sail by themselves. They think some teens with the proper training are even better than adults. Like in Abby Sunderland's case. They think that even a teen can be responsible enough to control a boat by themselves. Another one of the larger reasons is that just because a teen isn't responsible for small things, doesn't mean they arent for larger things. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 18. Physics of Boating Essay The first thing you should know is the physics behind a boat, seeing how you can't have a boating adventure without one. To keep it simple, let's check out the main thing you should know about a boat: Buoyancy. Buoyancy, by definition, is the upward force exerted by a liquid on any immersed object. If the force of the liquid on the object is greater than that of the object on the liquid then the object will float. In other words buoyancy is dependent upon the density of the liquid and the volume of the object submerged. Buoyancy: Fb= d*g*V Where Fb= the magnitude of the buoyant force d= density of the liquid, g= force of gravity (9.8 m/s^2), V= volume of the submerged object All object displace fluid when in a liquid, ... Low tide is when you smell dead fish. High tide is when the smell is somewhat less stinky. The bald eagle is not an uncommon sight when boating in Southeast Alaska. It is a massive bird that flies with the greatest of ease. Lets take a look at the casually oversimplified physics behind the flight of a bird. Basically, birds wings are not flat but are shaped like an aerofoil. "Air passes over or under the wing as the bird moves forward, or as the wind blows. The air that moves over the top of the wing has further to travel to get across the wing, thus it speeds up. This causes the pressure to drop because the same amount of air is exerting its pressure over a greater area. Therefore, any given point experiences less pressure. This effectively sucks the wing up. Meanwhile the air going below the wing experiences the opposite effect. It slows down, generates more pressure and effectively pushes the wing up." Hence a bird with air moving over its wings is pulled up from above and pushed up from below. Marine Mammals

Charigot was clearly painted with the most detail and coloring, and holds the most presence in the painting which could be a hint as to Renoir's fancy of her. Standing behind her, leaning on the railing, is Alphonse Fournaise, the son of the restaurant's owner. In the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

When I first was told to do that as a kid, I looked all over the place for a hook and a phone. If telephones really were on a hook, think of all the handless people there would be. "Your home is where you hang your hat." I think of a cap hanging by a noose, or on a picture frame. A hat does not hang. "Where are you going to "hang out." Does this mean I have received the ultimate punishment? Is my zipper undone? Will I have to hang out doors? That guy is going to "beat you to a pulp." Every child who is going to be boating needs to know that they should always wear a life jacket. The best PFD for smaller children is the one that comes with a loop and a pillow that sits behind their head. If your child is bigger, then a standard PFD for their size is perfectly fine. Instill in them the importance of never taking their life jacket off. Get them into the water to show them that their life jacket will support them in the water and keep them from sinking. Explain to children that their ability to swim in a swimming pool does not mean they are not in danger of sinking in lakes or oceans. Wakes, waves and wind can make swimming in larger, natural bodies of water a challenge – and sometimes impossible – even for adults. Teach them that each and every snap, tie or whatever keeps their life jacket attached to them is always clipped into the proper place. Also make sure that it is tight enough so that the life jacket does not float up over their chins or heads. When you are in rough water or just driving around, teach your child the importance of staying seated at all times. Let them know that if they are standing and you hit a large wave, wake or unforeseen obstacle in the water, they may fall overboard or get hurt on the boat itself. If you have a houseboat or a boat with a cuddy, never leave your child unattended in these areas while the boat is in motion. If they are in an indoor area of the boat, still teach them the importance of sitting in rough waters and make sure they understand that they still need their life jackets on. Some parents and adults will let children help them drive the boat. This is fine, however, teach your child to never touch the steering wheels, throttle or any other buttons or levers on the boat without your ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 39. The, Boating, And Bodies : Egyptian Culture And Its Impact... Bowling, Boating, and Bodies: Egyptian Culture and its Impact Imagine for a moment you are in Ancient Egypt. The air is hot and dry, the wind blows stinging sand against your face, and you can hear the rushing of the Nile. Up the road from you is the marketplace where vendors sell their wares. People shout and run and argue and work, not the least bit aware that their own culture is helping to shape that of the rest of the world for thousands of years to come. The Egyptians were responsible for a variety of aspects of our modern life, from some of our sources of entertainment even down to aspects of our religion. They revolutionized science, architecture, and cosmetics, and helped set the stage for the advancement of civilizations for millennia to come. Essentially, the ancient Egyptians were significant to the history of the world and to our modern time because of their advances in technology, entertainment, and language. In terms of technology, the Ancient Egyptians were without a doubt the most advanced of their time. To begin, the most tangible and obvious evidence still present today is their architecture. The Egyptians employed a multitude of advanced architectural techniques, ranging from ornate pillars to gargoyles (Reshafim). Even arches developed, and, though not quite as prolific and well–designed as that of the Romans, are still an impressive feat. Complex systems were used to erect large buildings and monuments to deities, such as systems of ramps and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 40. Comparing The Painting, Luncheon Of The Boating Party Pierre–Auguste Renoir, "Luncheon of the Boating Party" & Caravaggio, "Narcissus" Similarities: 1. Differences: 1.Firstly, the painting "Luncheon of the Boating Party" would best be described to me as a genre painting .The reason I say this is because, when reading the story behind the artwork it states that "Luncheon of the Boating Party was intended to replicate everyday modern life" which means, he based his art work on facts about life. While the painting "Narcissus" states that "The story of Narcissus comes from Greco–Roman mythology" which means that the story is not proven to be true. 2. ... While reading this quote "Narcissus stayed beside the stream gazing at his reflected paramour in vain, neglecting even to eat or drink." While in the story behind ""Luncheon of the Boating Party" it states that "This canvas shows the artist creatively using clothing and scenery to portray a typical sunny afternoon gathering of friends." The difference between the two artists is one is focused on himself, while in the other the artist is focused on ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This paintings setting takes place in the suburbs about a half hour train ride away from the city, and can be accessed by boat. The fact that this restaurant can be accessed by boat is one reason the title is, Luncheon of the Boating Party. The 19th century certainly was a booming time for new inventions in public transportation . The interest in tourism and travel were becoming apparent to many businessmen and government officials, this interest led to the many successful forms of transportation that popped up in the 19th century.
