Criteria for Voc Rehab
1. Client must have a documented physical and/or mental disability that prevents
him/her from being gainfully employed.
2. One needs to be in a position where they can benefit from the service.
3. Client has to be able to wok in a competitive employment situation;
competitive meaning the client is competing for the same job as someone else.
Sheltered Workshops are not criteria as this service provides pre
employment skills for clients.
Voc Rehab is considered a resource of last resort.
Voc Rehabilitation’s main focus is employment.
3 Categories or Levels of Service
Most Significantly Disabled (MSD)
If eligible for SSI or SSDI, already eligible and are served right away
Significantly Disabled (SD)
Based on how many are checked on the referral form
Others Eligible (OE)
This is rarely if ever used.
