At kikaPaprika “Dressing a Better World” isn’t just
our tag-line. We are passionate about getting
women into our eco-friendly clothing -- clothes they
can wear every day regardless of their lifestyle.
We take “comfort” in knowing we’re producing
clothes that are good for the makers, great for the
wearers, and gentle on our planet!
MOTHER-DAUGHTER TEAM
Kim and Kirstyn work together from concept to
production to develop every piece in the line.

impeccable sense of style and attention to detail
result in a collection that fits and flatters “Every
woman, Every age, Every day.” Kim and Kirstyn’s

3. SUSTAINABILITY
Fall Collection Fabrications
48%: 95% Organic Cotton / 5% Spandex
48%: 100% Tencel or Tencel/Cotton/Span
4%: Modal Blends
At kikaPaprika using eco-friendly
fabrics is important to us
because of the impact
insecticides and pesticides have
on the environment, and the
short-term and long-term
negative effect it has on people’s
health who are in the fields and
exposed to polluted air and
water.
Selling direct to the consumer
allows us to minimize excess
inventory. We manufacture
continuously throughout our
season, only restocking on an
as-needed basis.
Traditional retailers have as
much as 30%* of their inventory
left at the end of the year, while
we only have about 16%.
(*Based on figures from US Census Bureau)
All of our manufacturing, from
the fabric knitting to the finishing
occurs right here in LA. Fewer
emissions make for a healthier
planet. We are also able to
respond quicker to demand, so
we can produce less up front,
replenishing inventories as
required.
Being local also means we can
align ourselves with vendors that
share our ideals, such as our
GOTS compliant dye house. All
of our shops are monitored to
ensure good working conditions
and fair treatment of employees.

6. IMPLEMENTATION
Develop new fabrics that
will increase eco-fibers
from 80% to 95%
(accounting for 5%
spandex) where we were
previously constrained by
high minimums and
deposits.
Purchase of new software
will enable to us better
track and manage
inventory when we grow
as well as streamline our
shipments to customers
(decrease year end sewn
goods inventory from 16%
to 9% by end of 2015).
Continue to educate staff
and sales force on the
benefits of being green,
and create a sustainability
committee to develop,
implement, and monitor
sustainable business
practices.
Measure and evaluate the
impact of our products to
determine the carbon
footprint of each item and
where we can reduce
emissions.

8. WHAT THEY’RE SAYING
“I am so happy to have found kikaPaprika! Not only do the clothes FEEL fantastically soft and comfortable,
and not only do I feel great when wearing them, but I also feel good knowing my clothing was 100%
USA made, and done so ethically, without damaging manufacturing and dyeing processes, unfair labor
or brought to me via a carbon heavy trek from afar. The clothes are versatile, stylish and again,
comfortable. And my consultant has gotten to know me and my preferences, making for an easier
shopping experience. For me, it's really the whole package and I just haven't found it
anywhere else.”

“Why do I love kika? The garments are comfortable, they have a great fit and they launder beautifully.
The colors include those I wear well. The styles are flattering and run the range from mainstream to edgy,
depending upon my need or mood. The prices are right.
A true test of my kika wardrobe occurred in January when my husband and I took a weekend trip to
Dallas on a discount airline. I thought the prices were GREAT until I checked in online and discovered we
had to PURCHASE seats (Really? Is there an option to stand???) and PAY $40 for each carry-on bag.
Determined to beat the system, I located a backpack that could fit under the seat and stuffed it full of kika.
The mix and match feature enabled me to be very selective about what I took, yet be stylish and classy
every day. The easy care feature enabled me to shake out my duds and wear them with no additional
care. Throw on a few different accessories each day and I looked and felt like a million. Thanks, Kathy
and kika. Life just keeps getting better.”
