Ayurveda is the panacea for diseases. The origins of Ayurveda derive their roots from the Indian
subcontinent whereas Ayurvedic treatment is a systematic approach of treating the disorders,
diseases, and injuries in human anatomy. It is gaining popularity across the globe because of the
modern practices that the Ayurvedic experts are using.
The inception of Ayurveda began 5000 years ago. The transmission of the Ayurvedic concept
began with the mythological stories. If we believe the book naming Sushruta Samhita by one of
the first human physicians, he channelized the energy of Ayurveda by his Guru and God of
Ayurveda “Dhanvantari”. Ayurveda is continuing to embark on its accomplishments for over more
than two millennia.
If we observe Ayurveda of countries other than India, this branch of medicine is popular for
general welfare and cosmetics. According to the joint efforts of the World Health Organization and
Indian Ayurvedic Gurus, Ayurveda has been given a stand of its own for the treatment of kidney
diseases. Kidney failure is becoming the 8th leading cause of kidney failure in the United States,
perhaps due to alternative treatments that are popular other than Ayurvedic treatments.
It is evolving gradually and the Ayurvedic experts are treating the ailments and diseases with
modern practices. It a rare-tale that the alternative medicines are meant with the help of
Ayurvedic medicines, the extracts of popular Ayurvedic herbs like Punnarnava, salvia, ginseng,
and turmeric are used in artificial medicines. Also, the early Indian alchemy (Rasa Shastra) tells a
tale about the surgical techniques used then to cure the problem of kidney stones, rhinoplasty,
cosmetic surgery and extraction of foreign objects.
Ayurveda is the mother of healing. It is inclusive of multiple ingredients like natural herbs,
spices, oils, fruits, and vegetables. The emphasis of Ayurvedic medicines is on improving the
body, mind and the consciousness of an individual. Ayurveda tells the factual way of
maintaining the accurate balance of inner and outer balance of the body with the teachings of
lifestyle and dietary changes in daily life.
According to the Ayurvedic treatment for diseases, everyone has its significant type of energy or
the combination of their physical, mental, and emotional structures. The human body is driven
by three energies varying from one to another just like biometrics. Each human anatomy has its
significance and interpretation that tells a different tale and requires a different type of
Ayurvedic treatment.

The three Ayurvedic energies are Vatta, Pitta, and Kapha. Understand these energies as:
• Vatta: It is a combination of space and air which is associated with various movements of
the body. Vatta directs breathing, blinking, muscle, and all other cell and tissue movements.
A Vatta dominant individual will promote creativity and flexibility but if he/she loses the
Vatta balance then the possession will be of fear and anxiety.
• Pitta: It is a combination of fire and water that controls the digestive process, adsorption,
assimilation, metabolism, and body temperature. A Pitta dominant individual will promote
understanding and intelligence but he/she will be possessing anger, hate, and jealousy if the
balance is lost.
• Kapha: It is the formation of the Earth and water. It acts like glue, binding the bones,
muscles, cells, and tendons of the body. Kapha is responsible for the transportation of water
to all the body parts and organs of the body. It greases the joints; dampen the skin and
maintain a healthy balance of immunity in the human body. A Kapha dominant person will
be expressing love, calmness, and forgiveness but when the balance of a Kapha dominant
loses it will be promoting attachment, greed, and envy.

The human body is composed of four major elements. Dosha, Dhatu, Mala, and Agni are the four
elements of the human body. The kidneys are a part of the renal system or to be specific with the
Ayurvedic term “Mutravaha Srotas.” Anything that is creating a disturbance in this Srota can bring
the situation of kidney failure. Ayurvedic treatment for kidney failure can help in refraining from
such a condition and help in rejuvenating the functioning naturally.
Before we proceed with the treatment for renal failure; the following are the fundamentals of
Ayurveda.
The three energies Vatta, Pitta, and Kapha regulate and control the catabolic and anabolic
metabolism. Their key responsibilities of these three elements are to transport the by-
products of the foods and beverages that the human body consumes to the different organs
and parts of the body. Any malfunction in these parts, organs, tissues, and cells of the body is
a disease.

Dhatu is the supporting system of the body helping in the formation and proper functioning of the
body. Seven tissue systems are available in the human anatomy that is popularly known as:
• Rasa (Plasma)
• Rakta (Blood)
• Mamsa (Muscle)
• Meda (Fat Tissue)
• Asthi (Bone)
• Mjja (Bone Marrow)
• Shukra (Semen)
These types of dhatu provide a basic structure and nutrition to the body helping the growth &
structure of the mind.
It is the waste that the body excretes. These wastes are the breakdown products of food that a
human body consumes. These wastes are popularly known as stool, urine, and sweat. A proper
process of excretion is important for the healthy functioning of the body. Kidneys are responsible
for the formation of urine. In Ayurveda, the kidneys are a part of the “Mutravaha Srotras.” Any
kidney disease/kidney failure occurring in the Mutravaha Srotr can be treated with Ayurvedic
treatment for kidney failure.

All kinds of metabolic and digestive activity of the body take place with the help of the biological
fire of the body called Agni. Agni can be termed as the various enzymes present in the elementary
canal, liver and tissue cells.
Ayurveda is a natural process of healing the damage done to the functioning of kidneys. It is the only
source that can heal and bring back the functioning of kidneys without surgical procedures. The
following are the fundamental guidelines provided by the Ayurvedacharyas are:
