a
mountain.
This
mountain
does
not
have
to
be
very
high,
or
it
can
be
jinormous.

are
several
lists.

peaks

set

about
270
peaks
all
in
Southern
California.
Desert
and
Sierra
Peaks
– County
and
state
highpoints
– The
Seven
Summits
–
the
highest
points
on
each
conCnent.
• The
level
of
effort
ranges
from
just
driving
up
and
stepping
out
of
your
car,
to
a
20
hour
push
(Rosa
Point,
Mile-‐High
Peak,
and
Villager).
• Many
require
you
to
walk
on
a
trail,
some
are
cross
country
travel.
Some
require
a
liNle
rock
climbing
technique.
• An
example
is
climbing
Marion
Mountain
which
is
near
San
Jacinto
Peak.
One
way
to
get
this
peak
is
to
• Go
on
the
Palm-‐Springs
tram
• Walk
on
trail
to
Wellman
Divide
and
just
aUer
the
2nd
switch
south
of
the
divide,
go
west
• You’ll
travel
west
through
a
saddle
between
Marion
Mountain
and
Jean
Peak.
Jean
is
to
your
north
and
Marion
will
be
on
the
south
• The
peak
you’re
interested
in
is
on
the
west.
• There
is
a
pleasant
summit
block
which
requires
a
liNle
rock
climbing
skill.
