Module03 section2 peak_baggingmultiday

  1. 1. Peak  bagging  Mul-day   •  The  point  is  to  get  to  the  top  of  a  mountain.    This  mountain  does   not  have  to  be  very  high,  or  it  can  be  jinormous.       •  There  are  several  lists.       –  The  hundred  peaks  is  a  set  of  about  270  peaks  all  in  Southern   California.  Desert  and  Sierra  Peaks   –  County  and  state  highpoints   –  The  Seven  Summits  –  the  highest  points  on  each  con-nent.   •  The  level  of  effort  ranges  from  just  driving  up  and  stepping  out  of  your  car,   to  several  that  require  a  mul-day  backpack.       •  Many  require  you  to  walk  on  a  trail,  some  are  cross  country  travel.    Some   require  a  liHle  rock  climbing  technique.   •  An  example  is  Mount  Gould   •  This  peak  is  located  just  north  of  Kearsarge  Pass  in  the  Sierra  Nevada.   •  I’ve  taken  done  this  as  a  2/3  day  backpack.   •  I’ve  also  dayhiked  Kearsarge  Pass.
