2. BACKGROUND
“Sleepnastics” was coined by Kaoru Kimura in
Nov 2012. When she was distressed by a
mission to create a brand new sport, her
sleeping son caught her attention. She
watched her son tossing and turning in his
sleep, and thought “it’s like a gymnastics
while sleeping…Eureka!”
This is how Sleepnastics was born.
3. EQUIPMENT
Single size futon or bed (as a “floor arena”)
Video camera (preferably with a tripod)
4. RULES
A gymnast’s performance while sleeping is
recorded by a video camera.
Recording time is 10 hours as a max.
More and wilder performances are scored
higher.
A gymnast’s forms should not be changed on
purpose by any other person.
When a gymnast wakes up, the recording
should be stopped.
5. RULES (cont’d)
A gymnast should perform on the floor arena.
If a gymnast is totally outside of the floor, the
points will be deducted.

6. SCORING
Scores are given by a panel of judge.
Scoring are based on;
- the degree of difficulty
- the quality of the execution
