1. Is Squidoo Squidone?

Squidoo is a blogging platform that is free to join and shares its revenue with its
writers. Being designed with modules to facilitate easy construction of lenses (as
individual posts are known) Squidoo is fairly user friendly.
Even more than just a blogging platform Seth
Godin has managed to create a culture around
creating lenses that could almost be called a cult.
There are die hard Squidoo lensmasters (as the
writers are called) that work and work at creating
these masterpieces,in some cases, to receive teeny
tiny compensation.
Squidoo also has a game aspect to it where you
are eligible to receive points for completing
various tasks and attaining various goals. It is fun,
you do get to know other lensmasters. Part of the culture is to visit other people’s lenses
and “like” them.
People create lenses about everything, well almost everything; MLM, drugs and X/R
rated stuff are definite no no’s. And you cannot create a list from there any longer.
As Lensmasters created more and more content some pulled ahead created massive
amounts of lenses and qualified to become Giant Squids. A squid is another name for
a lensmaster. There are also Squid Angels, whose job is to around and bless lenses that
they like to help give them an algorithm boost in the rankings of Squidoo itself.
Google likes Squidoo, for the same reasons it likes Empower Network.
Squidoo enjoys a low Alexia ranking, it gets lots of fresh content daily and
it offers answers to questions people are asking.
Unlike Empower Network, though, Squidoo does not pay 100% commissions. I have
been a lensmaster for several years over on Squidoo. As a Giant Squid and a Squid
Angel, I have worked hard to create over 100 quality lenses, bless others and support the
community in general. For my efforts, I make a little over $20 a month directly from
Squidoo and maybe another $10 to $20 from Amazon. With Empower Network, I have
been working steadily for a couple months now and have earned just shy of $700 so far
this month!
