2. Who We Are
• Campus Advocacy: Palestine is a
student group at Villanova University
that is open to all students across all
majors and disciplines
• Group meetings take place at least
once every month to discuss
upcoming events in addition to
educating group members
3. Purpose
• The purpose of CAP is two-fold:
1. To educate the university-aged
population (particularly Villanova
students) on the facts on the ground
in Israel/Palestine in addition to US
involvement
2. To take the education a step further
and host campus-wide projects to
engage students on this issue
4. Vision
• The vision of CAP is to create a
campus that is aware of a very
potent issue in our world today
• We do not try to propose a solution,
we simply do what we can in a
human dimension to bring a face to
the Palestinian people
5. Values
• The values of CAP include:
–Respect of all members and
members’ opinions
–A willingness to listen
–Open-mindedness
–Search for Knowledge
6. Membership
• Everyone is welcome and encouraged to
join the group and attend meetings
• No membership fees will be charged
• The group will function with a leadership
team that includes a President and Social
Coordinator
– Each project will also have a group leader
7. Headquarters
• Campus Advocacy: Palestine will be
located on the campus of Villanova
University (800 Lancaster Ave.
Villanova, PA)
• Meetings will take place in Corr Hall
with other projects and events
scheduled at various locations
throughout campus
8. Resources and Partners
• CAP is a student group that hopes to
partner with the Center for Peace and
Justice and the campus Catholic Relief
Services team
– Initial funding will hopefully come through
the University and these groups
• Additional partners will depend upon
specific events
– Ex: partnership with Philly BDS for BDS
project
9. Projects
• Education: Speaker Series
– In order live up to our first goal of education,
CAP will sponsor various speakers throughout
the year that pertain to Israel/Palestine
– These events will take place in an auditorium
setting and advertised through posters and
the Newswire
• Such speakers might include Don Wagner, Josh
Ruebner, and Ali Abunimah
10. Projects
• Education: Film Screenings
– We also hope to educate the student body
with film screenings that pertain to this issue
– These events will be advertised similarly to
the Speaker Series with posters and a spot in
the Newswire
• Such films might include Time of Favor and
Lemon Tree
11. Projects
• Sabra and Tribe awareness
– This movement will strive to take the
education piece further
– CAP will educate the public by setting up a
table by the Oreo to hand out flyers about
BDS
– Also, Dining Services will be contacted to
eliminate the sale of the hummus products
from dining locations and shops
12. Projects
• Fair Trade
– CAP will partner with the Villanova Fair
Trade Team (a part of CRS) and Dining
Services to bring Canaan Fair Trade products
to Campus
– These products can be sold at campus stores
in addition to being spotlighted at various
campus fair trade advocacy events
