- 3. THE SUMMARY The British kill Samuel’s neighbors and take his parents prisoner. Meets Annie, a war orphan. Samuel and Annie meet Abner McDaniel. He takes them to New York. Rescues his parents. Return home to Philadelphia with adopted daughter Annie.
