外国人大学教員の知的能力開発の機会と阻害要因に関する探索調査の暫定的知見 Preliminary Findings of Foreign Early Career Researchers’ Opportunities and Challenges in Their Intellectual and Knowledge Development in Japanese Academia
日本の外国人大学教員の知識・知的能力開発機会とそれを妨げる要因の検証に取り組んでいる.聞き取りをした44名の語りでは,言語文化的な苦労がありながらも,主体的に,国際的に自身の能力の研鑽に励んでいる姿が浮かび上がった.先行研究に見られる,疎外され,日本の学術界を悲観するイメージとは異なる様子を窺い知ることができている.
This paper presents some preliminary findings based on interviews with 44 foreign young academics in Japan. Although the literature often reports their exclusion and disappointment in Japanese academia, this study reveals their proactive, international engagement in their knowledge and intellectual development.
