Dirty water is the world's biggest health risk, and
continues to threaten both quality of life and public
health in the United States!
14BILLION pounds of garbage are dumped into
the ocean every year. (Most of it is plastic!)
Don’t throw litter into rivers, lakes or oceans. Help
clean up any litter you see on beaches or in rivers
and lakes, BUT make sure it is safe to collect the
litter and put it in a nearby trashcan!
Every day 2 million tons (1.8 billion
kilograms) of human waste are disposed of in
waterways around the world.
