2. Hello everyone, sorry I am unable to make it, but
here is a compilation of photos I have taken of some
of the people you may see around Banyule, each
with an individual story
Sorry for any grammar mistakes, doing this whilst
revising for exam -mitosis is important as it helps the
body to repai-
BTW: this does follow the theme of the HONY
project, by using quotes, sorry if it seems I am
following his style to the point of plagiarism
5. ‘These 2 here aren’t really rescue dogs, but we
did rescue them from their owner, who had
been…’mistreating’ them’
PS: The small pug is wearing a small blue
bandana titled ‘A Million Paws Walk’ a walk
created by the RSPCA to help raise funds to
accommodate for pound dogs.
6.
7. ‘So what would you like the caption of this photo
to be?’
‘Hmmm, black Labrador. It’s all about him, not me’
8.
9. I couldn’t get many quotes from this man, but all I
could tell was that it had been a long day for him
considering all of his clothes were covered this
muddy texture, the excess you get from
landscaping. Yet he was still able to find time to
play with his Border Collie
10.
11. Kate with her dog Izzy and 7 WEEK old baby,
Charlotte.
14. ‘I work in the IT section of the metro’
‘I got these 2 dogs as rescue, thankfully they’re friendly, but
they have their moments’
One of his dogs later proved that because he attacked mine -.-
But it was still interesting hearing his stories as he is now
planning to get into prosthetics, he says he’s always loved
engineering and helping people, as his dad was an ambo
15.
16. Lovely couple of Richard, Jessie, and 2 year old Alice Thorton
Richard by day works and manages the computer system of an
international company, but by day, he gets out his trumpet and
plays gigs with his band ‘Funk Buddies’
His wife on the other hand, who is pregnant with their second
child, is a detective! She manages cases such as fraud.
Richard and Jessie met in high school in the school orchestra,
when Richard was playing the trumpet, and Jessie was rocking
the tuba, all together, they’ve been together for 14 years!
And their daughter Alice who is soon to be a big sister, is
already able to sing, and her father claims she has the best
voice of any 2 year old they’ve any known
17.
18.
19. Out of the frame was their dog Krystal, who they
adopted after she was unable to become a
guide dog due to elbow dysplasia
20. This is Brian and his wife with their very old and
wise Saluki’s
Brian use to work in the 70’s as someone who’d
teach people how to use computers, back when
they were the size of fridges, but he says he likes
to have a play on the modern computers
21.
22. A greyhound that was adopted from the
‘Greyhound Adoption Program’ that puts retired
race dogs in a good home
If you look closely, you can see the scars on his
rib…
PS: The owner wishes not to post this anywhere.
25. This is perhaps one of my favourite photos that I have taken of
people, not because of how I took it, but because it was the
face of the very lovely ‘May’
Some quotes:
’77 years old, been there done that’
‘All of those years spent in Banyule’
‘I’ve loved Boxers all my life and had in total 7, the kids
seemed to love them too.’
‘I remember when Banyule was all farmland, no roads, no
cement, and you had to use a bucket in the back, because there
were no drains!
‘Watsonia wasn’t even civilized yet, only hills and a bit of
farmland’
‘I use to be a data storer for companies, I used to be what you
would call nowadays a ‘computer’
26.
27. As I talked to May more and more, I obviously
realized that she’d seen a lot of change in her life,
she also opened up a bit more.
I started questioning her about her family, she says
she’d lost her husband a few years ago to cancer,
and also her daughter, at a very young age. And at
that very moment her eyes started to water, and I
was able to just get a shot of her.
I believe May is perhaps a key figure in Banyule,
hopefully I can meet her again and get her contact,
as I believe Banyule would love to here her stories.
30. The thing that surprised me most is that she looks
like an ordinary lady, but by simply just saying
hello can alter your perception of them, same
exact thing goes for everyone in the previous
photos.
31. Thanks for paying attention everyone, hopefully you
didn’t find it too boring ;)
Sorry for the abundance of dog owners, I’ll be sure
to work on it. I did ask one man at a bus stop for his
photo, unfortunately…he only spoke Russian…
Be sure to construct any criticism or feedback I could
use effectively for my future portraits
