17. oil was more precious than water

18. oil was as rare as it was precious

19. the priests of oil control its use

20. the oil police punished it’s misuse

21. one day...

22. an old oil priest

23. in a moment of forgetfulness

24. tells a newly powerful ancient rival

25. that his amazing daughter

26. can turn ordinary straw into oil

27. no sooner than the words are said

28. the rival lies to the high priest

29. the oil police are swiftly mobilized

30. the old priest’s compound is
surrounded in the pre-dawn

31. there is a firefight

32. loyal guards out numbered

33. the casualties mount

34. among the dead is the old priest’s
wife

35. the old oil priest is detained

36. his daughter is detained

37. in prison, she vows revenge

38. she is waterboarded, which is not
torture

39. the high priest arrives, once she is broken

40. “what have i done? what do you want?”

41. “i want straw turned in to oil”

42. “i can not, i can not!”

43. “your father says you can.”

44. “once. i haven’t been able to
repeat it.”

45. “then i leave you with two
choices...”

47. “fail and you and your father

59. and with that she is taken to
the lab

62. she has not succeeded in
replicating the experiment in 2
nights that she has been
trying to replicate for 2 years

around
