sessionscouldbe heldtoshowpeople upfrontbyusingvisual learningtogive a better
understandingof howHealthandSafetyworksandwouldalsobuildupabetterrelationshipwith
the company,insteadof justgivingreadingmaterial forthemtolearn. Staffsneedtobe encouraged
to playtheirrole inmakingthe workplace amore Healthand Safe environmentandlearnanylawful
regulationsthatare neededtomaintainasafe workplace. There shouldalwaysbe asafety
statementforeachmemberof staff to accessat all times.
Outline the principlesandprocedures of good house-keeping inthe
workplace.
Accordingto the Safety,Health andWelfare Actof 2005 it isnecessaryforemployerstoprovide its
employee’swithasafe workingenvironment. Keepinggoodhousekeepinglike makingsure work
areas are keptneat,floorsare keptfree of slipand triphazards,removingwaste materials will
preventcertainaccidentsfromtakingplace. A goodlayoutof the workplace isneededinordertolet
employeesworksafely(e.g.,makingsure space isprovidedforasafe workarea,toiletsECT).Proper
storage facilitiesmustbe providedastostore away safelyanyharmful substanceslike cleaning
products.Evenstoringawayboxesof goodsmust be assessedtomake sure theygetstoredat a safe
heightanddoespose a threatto employees.Poorhousekeepingcancontribute tocommon
workplace accidents suchasthingslike trippingoverlooseobjects,beingshitbyfallingobjects,
slippingonwetordirtyfloors“if there isa spillage youneedtocleanitstraightawayor make
whoeverdealswithhousekeepingmade aware straightawayandstay there till theycome,”striking
againstprojecting,poorlystackeditemsmaterial tothingslikecutting,puncturing,ortearingthe

startedas well. There are 4 main type of cleaningagentswhichif requiredmore information
can be foundonline butIwill justname themfornow,theyare acidic,alkaline,neutral,and
cleaningagentthatare solvent- basedorsolvent-containingwhichisthencalleddegreasers.
Finallythere are certainelementsthatshouldbe consideredforeffectivehousekeeping
program whichIshall name a few. Dust and dirtremoval,whichiscommonsense byjust
keepingthe entire workplacesuchassurfaceswallsclean. Makingsure there are employee’s
facilitiesinplace,suchasmale and female toiletsandaplace to washyour hands. . Employers
mustconduct a properriskassessmentof itsplace of businessandmake sure thatthey
implementcontrol measuresthatare put inplace to reduce the riskof hazardsand risks.
Noise, Dust andFumes are hazards whichare commonly found in the
workplace. For one of these hazards outline the risk associatedwith
exposure tothis hazardand control measures whichmight be usedin the
workplace. Identify at least 3 hazards which are commonly encounteredin
your workplace and briefly describe howthese are controlled.

ve plasters are are used for help stop bleeding in minor cuts.
● Sterile eye pads are used in case of any damage to the eyes and should
only be temporarily used till you see a doctor.
● Individually wrapped triangular bandages are used for an injury to limb .
For example if you sprained your wrist you can make a sling from the
bandage.
● Individually wrapped wound dressings are used to put over any major
cuts ETC until a doctor can be seen.
● Disinfected wipes are used to clean wounds and also clean yourself if
you're the first aider.
● Paramedic shears are used to cut bandages ETC without cutting into the
skin of the injured person.

social networkisgood.Makingemployeesaware of the risksbynot leading ahealthylifestyle
needtobe done forboththeirsake and the employer.
DIET: Making sure we eat a goodbalanceddietandgettingthe propervitamins’ETCfromour
food. Maintaina good lifestyle outof workcanhelpkeepushealthyandmaybe evenhaving
some sort of social clubin workcan be goodfor yourhealth. Lotsof people workwhilsthaving
ILLNESS: Injuries whichcanbe anythingfromallergiestosomeone withaspinal injurybutyour
employermustinmostcasesdo all theycan to make sure that we can work byprovidingthe
rightequipmentStressthesedaysseemstobe the number1 cause to absencesfromworkbut
there are many wayswe can eliminate stressfromare life.We canget stressfrombothhaving
too muchwork to take on andit can be causedfrompoor lifestyleathome.Itis importantto
workon are healthoutside of worksostickto the basicthingslike agood diettokeepfitevenif
it meansjustgoingfora dailywalk.
