1. How to read an SPF report
This is the most important section of the report. It shows how a school is doing in many areas, as well as an
overall score. Every score is shown as a number and a color:
Great Good OK In trouble Big trouble
(Orange is only used in the overall rating. Yeah, a bit weird.)
This is the overall rating. If you only look at one thing, look at this. It’s also listed at
the bottom. (It’s important enough it’s shown twice.)
This is whether students improved over the
past few years on standardized tests.
This is how current students
did on standardized tests.
This is whether students
graduate ready for college.
(For elementary and middle
schools, it’s blank.)
This is based on attendance
and a student happiness
survey.
This is how many extra-
curricular programs the
school has.
This is how happy parents are
