1. MITING DE AVANCE SPEECH
To the dean of our institution, Engr. Edgardo B. Uvas, to the chairperson of the student
affairs, Mrs. Nora s. Bermejo, to the Coordinator of the Student Organization, Mr. Odelio C.
Macinas, to the Chairperson of every department, fellow teachers, students, ladies and
gentlemen, a pleasurable morning to everyone of us.
A few weeks ago, I received a text from a known texter with a message like this, “Do you
want to join in USSC?” That time, I cannot press my phone to send back message with a yes
answer. I know to myself that appealing with this thing is a big responsibility. But then, after
two days of thinking, I found an answer. I decided to join and file my candidacy. So that’s why, I
am here in front of you.
Ladies and gentlemen, my name is Jonnel L. Capili, a 2nd-year student, from the
Department of Information Technology and I am one of the aspiring candidates for senator
under the banner of SMART PARTY, the Student Management and Responsible Team, with our
presidentiable, Mr. Ramish B. Baldoza.
Maybe, you will ask if I have the qualifications to join in this election. First is my
amenability to serve. I am much glad to serve you until my term come to its end. Second, the
passion I have. I love what I do and I love doing it. If I am happy to be a leader, then I will
concentrate for it. Third is the courage. I am ready to take any calculated risks. Problems are
not reasons to give up but instead I will going to used that as stepping stone to strive more, to
go on and to continue serving to people. I know occupying a position of leadership requires a
level of knowledge and skills, proper manner and preparedness. And I can confidently say that I
have these but then, I will try to develop them more. Because I believe, leaders are not born but
they are being developed.
And if ever I will win for this race, I will assure you that I will going to do my duties and
responsibilities. I am willing to open my hands to help the new president for the improvement,
accountability and accessibility of our institution and even more to the activities and platform of
government he wants to implement for. But then, I cannot do these things without your help
and cooperation my dear students. And lastly, I know that leadership is not a magnetic
personality. It’s not about making friends and exposing yourself to become popular. But then
again, however, leadership is stimulating a person’s vision to advanced sights and rising up of a
person’s performance to a higher standard.
Once again, I am Jonnel L. Capili, running for senator under the team smart. Thank you
