2. PROBLEM: How to build up 20” directly from
the ground.
Solution?!? “I’m using Cell Tek in
layers… 8”, 6” and 4”…
simple.”

3. We constructed this “Cell Tek” wall with SLP
800, LSG 6 & LSG 4.
We cut the material to our
required length and width,
expanded the cells and filled in
with gravel, clay, dirt and rubble.
LSG 4 is 4” high
LSG 6 is 6” high

4. What can you fill the “cells” with? Most
anything that’s available around the site.
Open and expand the Cell Tek and fill the ends and
corners with dirt, gravel, rubble or other material to
maintain the desired shape. (We used rubble from
the building site- old clumps of mortar, clay brick
and stone.)
Tapered mud wall can be built on top of
Cell Tek foundation and “tie rods” (steel
rebar, bamboo, sticks or other) can join
foundation and bottom of the wall
Finish filling in all the cells with materials and
keep about ½” -1” of material above the cell
walls in preparation for compaction.

5. COMPACTION… necessary for load
bearing or retention type of projects
…but not when I
have a 200 pound
vibratory plate
tamper! Yeah!
You can compact with
something as simple as a
wooden board too!

6. Tricks of the trade… with Cell Tek
I tie lower layers of Cell Tek
together with upper layers
using rebar before infilling.
Here in this narrow
space I built a series
of 3 Blue stone risers For tight spaces
(about 250 lbs each) where I need to
using Cell Tek. build up and retain, I
cut Cell Tek to size!

7. What can you infill the Cell Tek “cells” with?
On this project we
infilled the cell walls
with rubble from the
site excavation:
Old mortar,
old concrete,
bricks and
unusable dirt.
