2. Mission
S “The KY-TN National Guard Border Bowl’s objective is to
promote high school football in Kentucky and Tennessee
by holding an All-Star game featuring top players from
both states. This game allows players the opportunity to
play, practice, and battle it out for the rights to the border.
It also allows high school seniors to gain additional
exposure and perhaps, earn a college football
scholarship.”

Players must be nominated, then a committee choses the players.

Game is played in Williamsburg, Kentucky, which is 10 miles north of TN border.

Game was originally designed for East KY and East TN players but has since expanded
state wide.

The Border Bowl costs $ 90K to put on each year.

National Guard provides less than half each year, it is up to the committee to raise the rest
of the money.

Players attend a banquet prior to the game where they are presented with rings.
4. Why I chose the Border Bowl
S Many kids are not able to attend college due to
cost, Border Bowl gives kids extra exposure that leads to
scholarships.
S About 80% of players in the Border Bowl go on to play
college football on a scholarship. (NAIA, NCAA III, NCAA
FCS and NCAA FBS.
