2. Introduction There are 5.5 million nurses and nurse’s aids in the united states. That is more than the population of 30 states and 5 times the size of the army. Did you know? On average nurses have to deal with at least 160 pounds of poop each year? Nurses put in 11 billion hours of work in the years. In June 2009 the hospitals and care facilities added 21,000 jobs while the country as a whole eliminated 467,000. by 2020 another million nurses will be added to the career field. And I will happily be one of them! No matter how much poop I have to deal with, no matter how much vomit either. At the end of the day me knowing I am helping people survive makes it all worth it! What got me interested in this career field is my friends Mom is a nurse and yes she has her days where she doesn’t like what she has to do like cleaning up poop but like me in the end it is worth it. In order to get a better understanding of this career field I will be researching being a Registered Nurse.
