1. SESSION III:
Applying the Information in Your PLC
The Purpose of Session III:
To provide time for each PLC to share and reflect upon the information they learned this morning
concerning differentiation
To provide PLC Teams time to develop a common PLC differentiated lesson, project, or
activity/task that will be implemented 2nd or 3rd quarter and shared with the division
Directions:
Each PLC Team will briefly present the following information on March 11, 2013:
o explanation of the differentiated lesson, project, or activity/task that their PLC team has
taught, which includes:
the KUD related to the differentiated lesson, project, or activity/task
the type of differentiation involved (interest, learning profile, or readiness)
a summary of the differentiated lesson, project, or activity/task
o the successes experienced
o the challenges experienced
o next steps concerning differentiation
Follow-Up:
On March 11th (School Improvement Day), each of our Division PLC Teams will spend time
sharing this differentiated lesson, project, or activity/task that they have delivered to their students
(between October 10, 2012 and March 1, 2013).
Optional Support:
For those needing assistance getting started, an optional design template has been provided on the
back of this sheet.
Optional Challenge:
For those teams wishing to embrace an additional challenge, after you have designed your
differentiated lesson, project, or activity/task, develop a schedule to peer observe your co-PLC
members teaching this differentiated lesson, project, or activity/task. Use your peer observations to
help shape your team’s reflection that will be shared on March 11, 2013.
