10. Reports run over Edits in the Reporting Folder or Games in the Game list
11. Game Plan Review Play Tools Game Plan Binder Folders containing Shared Edits Game Folder for Data Entry Folder where coaches can save Edits Game Folder for Reports
This lesson explains the Game Plan concept in XOS Digital Thunder Football. After completing this lesson, you will be able to create Game Plans for Self-Scout and Opponents.
The Game Plan is the center piece of Thunder Football. All of the areas of the application are tied together and driven by the selections made in the Game Plan set-up. A coach can work in one Game Plan and get all of the information he needs. Specifically the Video, Data Entry, Reports and Play Tools binders are determined by the Game Plan.
To begin, create a new Game Plan and give the Game Plan a Name. Select the Scouted League, Scouted Team and select dates for the Game Plan. Only one Game Plan is needed for Self-Scout or for each Opponent. As each Group is selected, the contents of the Games and Folders boxes change, so the Games and Folders will be different for each side of ball.
The Binder Folder is the default Play Tools folder that opens for each Game Plan. To view the collection of play drawings for a certain opponent, select that opponent’s folder for the Binder Folder.
The Folders that the Coaches see are the same Folders that are in Edit Station. The folder structure in Edit Station is set up with a Shared folder that contains folders such as Games, Cutups and Practice. Each folder contains the edits and cutups shared out from the video office. Coaches only see the Folders inside the Folder set as the Shared folder.
With Defense selected, select the “…” button next to Organizer Folder and navigate to the Shared folder for that opponent in the Defense Video organizer. The folders within that Shared folder will be seen by the coaches. Select the Offense group and select the Shared folder in the Offense Video organizer for the same opponent.
Data Entry can be done on Games or Game Edits. In order to enter data to Games, click the “…” button in the Games area and select the Games from the list. To enter data to Game Edits, click the “…” button next to the Data Entry Folder box and navigate to the folder under the Shared folder that contains the Game Edits. Both areas need not be filled in.
The Hot Folder is a Game Plan Folder where any Coach can save edits and make them available for other coaches to view. The edits in the other Game Plan Folders can be viewed, but not edited and no additional edits can be saved to those folders by the coaches. Select the Hot Folder by clicking on the “…” button and navigating to the folder called “Hot Folder” underneath the Shared folder.
Reports can run over Games or Game Edits. This is determined by what is selected in the Game Plan.
To run reports over Games, select the “…” button in the Games area and select the desired Games. To run reports over Game Edits, click the “…” button next to the Reporting Folder box and navigate to the Game Edits folder under the Shared folder. The Reporting Folder takes precedence over the Games list. If a Reporting Folder is selected, leave the Games list empty.
As a review, the Game Plan ties together all of the areas of Thunder Football and determines what the Coaches will see in Coaches Station. The Binder Folder determines what Play Tools Binder opens by default. The Organizer Folder allows the Video Coordinator to set which folders the Coaches see. The Data Entry Folder or Games list determine what is available for Data Entry. The Hot Folder is a folder where Coaches can save their own edits and share them with other Coaches. Finally, the Reporting Folder or the Games list determines what information reports are run over.
You should now be able to create Game Plans for Self-Scout and upcoming Opponents. Check your work by logging in to Coaches Station and viewing Edits, Data Entry Games or Edits, Reports and Play Tools Binders for each Group.
