2. research
• I did some research into to musical side of both locations. I found that the
Trinity college of music leased the major part of the King Charles Building in
the Naval college in 2000 and they use it to preform and rehearse mainly
traditional classical music.
• I also found out that at Trinity Buoy Wharf the red lightship has been
renovated into a recording studio which has been used by many artists and
bands. They perform more modern styles of music using lots of computer
equipment to edit and produce their work
• The contrasts of the traditional Greenwich and the more modern Trinity
Buoy Wharf are shown through the different styles of music played in each
place.
3. Idea 1
• My first idea is to make an album
cover for a band that records at
the Lightship. The band use both
old traditional techniques mixed
with modern editing techniques
and they would like this to be
represented on the album cover
so I would include images and
illustrations from both locations
and maybe used some a
computer to put an image into
repeat to make a pattern like:
4. Idea 2
• My second idea is for a
website design to advertise
and display information about
the Lightship recording studio.
It would include images of the
exterior and interior of the
studio and some brief
information about Trinity
Buoy Wharf and its history.
5. Idea 3
• My third idea is to create a video for a piece of music by the same
band as the first idea so It would be representing the old and new
techniques. I would use a range of illustrations and photographs to
make up one moving scene which starts at Greenwich and ends up at
the Lightship at Trinity Buoy Wharf.
