Gal. 1:9 As we have said before, so now I say again, if anyone preaches any other gospel to you than what you have received, let him be accursed.

2. Any Other Gospel!
Gal. 1:8-9 But even if we, or an
angel from heaven, preach any
other gospel to you than what we

3. ● The best and sure way that I have found is to
use “poison” on them, it works every time!
● Have any of you ever read the box?
●On average there is anywhere from 1 to 3%
poison in them, some as low as .0025% and the
rest is actually good for them!
●Even that little bit of poison is enough to kill
them!
How many of you have ever had a
rat problem before? What did you do
about it, how did to get rid of them?

4. As this is true when it comes to killing rats, it
is also true when it comes to true religion!
Even 1% of error can be deadly!
● Jas 2:10 For whoever shall keep the whole
law, and yet stumble in one point, he is guilty of
all.
● 2Jo 1:9-11 Whoever transgresses and does
not abide in the doctrine of Christ does not have
God. He who abides in the doctrine of Christ has
both the Father and the Son. If anyone comes to
you and does not bring this doctrine, do not
receive him into your house nor greet him; for he
who greets him shares in his evil deeds.

5. One might preach truth 99% of the time, but it
is the 1% of error that can be deadly!
● It has often been said that, “the best lies
have some truth in them!” or that “a half
truth is a whole lie!”
● It is our goel today to make sure that we
are believing the right Gospel! It is only
Jesus that saves!
●Act. 4:12 "Nor is there salvation in any
other, for there is no other name under
heaven given among men by which we
must be saved."

7. I. Denying the Gospel!
● I am sure most everyone here knows what the
word “gospel” means!
●It is the “good new” of Jesus Christ!
●The Greek word is you-on-gleely-on which is a
compound word good/heathy and
message/teaching!
● The gospel is summarized by Paul as the
death, burial and resurrection of Jesus!
●1 Cor. 15:1-4
●When one denies their need for a Savior they
are denying the Gospel!

8. This was often the problem of so many in
Jesus’ time!
● Joh 8:21-24 Then Jesus said to them again, "I
am going away, and you will seek Me, and will
die in your sin. Where I go you cannot come."
So the Jews said, "Will He kill Himself, because
He says, 'Where I go you cannot come'?" And
He said to them, "You are from beneath; I am
from above. You are of this world; I am not of
this world. "Therefore I said to you that you will
die in your sins; for if you do not believe that I
am He, you will die in your sins."

9. Let’s look together at what the gospel is?
● 1Co 15:1-4 Moreover, brethren, I declare to
you the gospel which I preached to you, which
also you received and in which you stand, by
which also you are saved, if you hold fast that
word which I preached to you--unless you
believed in vain. For I delivered to you first of
all that which I also received: that Christ died
for our sins according to the Scriptures, and
that He was buried, and that He rose again the
third day according to the Scriptures,

10. There are some that deny the Gospel of Christ
and there are some that deny that Jesus is
Christ!
● 2Pe 2:1 But there were also false prophets
among the people, even as there will be false
teachers among you, who will secretly bring in
destructive heresies, even denying the Lord who
bought them, and bring on themselves swift
destruction.
● Jude 1:4 For certain men have crept in
unnoticed, who long ago were marked out for this
condemnation, ungodly men, who turn the grace of
our God into lewdness and deny the only Lord God
and our Lord Jesus Christ.

11. II. Distorting the Gospel!
● This is often times the most dangerous of
the two! The one denying the gospel is not
giving people “false hope!” The one
distorting the gospel often is!
● Distorting = to pull or twist out of shape;
give a misleading account; change the form
of something (Oxford Dict.)
● Many people rather than bending their
lives according truth, try to bend the truth to
fit their lives!

12. Let’s notice how this often works!
● 2Ti 4:1-4 I charge you therefore before God
and the Lord Jesus Christ, who will judge the
living and the dead at His appearing and His
kingdom: Preach the word! Be ready in season
and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort,
with all longsuffering and teaching. For the time
will come when they will not endure sound
doctrine, but according to their own desires,
because they have itching ears, they will heap up
for themselves teachers; and they will turn their
ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to
fables.

13. We must learn to line our lives up with the
Gospel and not the Gospel to try and fit our
lives!
● It is God’s Word that must direct us!
●Jer. 10:23 O LORD, I know the way of man is
not in himself; It is not in man who walks to direct
his own steps.
●Ps. 119;105 Your word is a lamp to my feet
And a light to my path.
● Men many tell you that it doesn’t really matter,
but God says it is a matter of heaven and hell! (2
Thess. 1:7-9)

14. III. Demanding the Gospel!
● This last point is really important for two reasons!
●First, because far too many believe they
shouldn’t say anything when knowing that what
someone believes is wrong!
•Let’s go back to the rat poison for a moment, if
you saw someone about to eat rat poison and
you could stop them, would you or would you let
them eat it and die?
•Then, why is it so hard for us to speak up when
someone is denying or distorting the Gospel of
Jesus?

15. Second, because we must stand up
for what is right!
● 1Ti 6:12 Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold
on eternal life, to which you were also called
and have confessed the good confession in
the presence of many witnesses.
● Jude 1:3 Beloved, while I was very diligent
to write to you concerning our common
salvation, I found it necessary to write to you
exhorting you to contend earnestly for the
faith which was once for all delivered to the
saints.

16. If God’s people will not standup for what is
right, then who will?
● We are after all called to be “soldiers of Christ!”
●2Ti 2:1-4 You therefore, my son, be strong in the
grace that is in Christ Jesus. And the things that
you have heard from me among many witnesses,
commit these to faithful men who will be able to
teach others also. You therefore must endure
hardship as a good soldier of Jesus Christ. No
one engaged in warfare entangles himself with
the affairs of this life, that he may please him who
enlisted him as a soldier.

17. Conclusion:
● Truly there isn’t any other gospel, other
than the Gospel of Jesus Christ!
● Let us make sure we are not denying it,
distorting it, but rather demanding it!
● We ask you this morning, “have you come
to believe and obey the Gospel of Christ?”
● May we never take for granted the one
and only thing where by we can and must
be saved, the Gospel of Jesus! (Rom.1:16)
