Program Overview
Applicants are provided with a pathway for pursuing a career in the Community Services and Child Studies
Department.
Students will have the opportunity to develop academic and professional skills and attitudes, which will facilitate
success in their program of choice. They will develop a thorough understanding of the personal and professional
requirements of the varied careers available in the Community Services and Child Studies Department. This
program will engage students in reflective practice to facilitate professional skill development, while enhancing
communication competence in all language strands. Child studies training and Child studies course,
imparted at Centennial College help students to make career.
Upon successful completion of this program, students will be invited to join their program of choice in the
Community Services and Child Studies Department.
Admission Requirements
Centennial College expects students applying for admission to certificate or diploma programs to present at
minimum an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent or be 19 years of age or older.
Possession of minimum admission requirements does not guarantee admission to the program.
Academic Requirements
•Compulsory English 12C or U or skills assessment, or equivalent
Notes
The Community & Child Studies Foundation program is only offered as an alternate program to applicants who
do not meet the minimum English requirements for post-secondary CSCS programs.
Please apply to one (or more) of Centennial College's post-secondary CSCS programs. The Enrolment Services
Office will review your application to the post-secondary program(s).
Your application will be reviewed by the Enrolment Services Office and applicants who do not meet the minimum
English requirements for the post-secondary CSCS program(s) may be given an alternate offer of admission to
the CSCS Foundation Program.
