2. Nothing in history has inspired more scientists
than competition. Just look at sputnik and the
race to space!
Competition is almost always hands on and it
almost always captures a students attention,
and is also a general goal of the CCS.
3. Nothing is cooler than being able to see props
and use props in a classroom, it is about as
applied as you can get!
It is an advantage than not even math or
English or social studies can do so it should be
used!
Models of cells, demonstrations for physics,
experiments for chemistry- the possibilities are
endless
4. When science is taught in a way students can
not relate to, then why would they be
interested if they already are not?
When science is related to students every day
lives, students can find a practical reason to not
only need science, but to actually like it.
A great example would be cars motions on a
road or track in relation to physics.
5. Number one- teacher personality
No amount of props, relation, or competition
can get a student motivated if a science teacher
is a bump on a log.
Personality is so important to getting a group
of students in gear. Think about it, if you are
ready to teach science and be charismatic and
showing character and having an up beat
tempo, students are going to most likely follow
by example.
