Steffen, Bruno, Vikki, and Nicolas used VoIP Innovations, Flowroute, Avaya / Zang, and Telenyx to create their hack Ghosted. Their platform touches on a current issue facing many adults today, dating. Most people want to find love and meet their soulmate, but sometimes, you find some undesirable people who become too attached. Most dating apps have one pitfall, being able to directly communicate with a user with anonymity. Our app, “Ghosted”, brings forth anonymity to protect users, but allows a full scale system to communicate via SMS, MMS, and voice calls, without letting the other user know their phone numbers. They won $200 from VoIP Innovations, $500 from Flowroute, and $500 from Avaya / Zang
2. What is Ghosted?
▪ Ghosted is an anonymous dating service application that allows users to connect
together to form relationships.
▪ In less than 24 hours, we created Ghosted and we were able to incorporate
anonymous SMS, MMS, and Voice Calling features by randomly generating a
number in our database servers.
▪ Every member on our team had no knowledge base on Telecom APIs and this
was an entirely new experience for us.
3. Telecom APIs Utilized
▪ VoIP Innovations
▪ All female users are assigned an anonymous number for SMS through the VoIP API.
▪ Telnyx
▪ All male users are assigned an anonymous number for SMS through the Telnyx API.
▪ Flowroute
▪ Both users are assigned an anonymous number for MMS through the Flowroute API.
▪ Avaya/Zang
▪ Both users are assigned an anonymous number for Voice Calling through the Avaya/Zang API.
The results of this method is to successfully incorporate all Telecom APIs and synchronize
them into a functional application, while also providing anonymity for both end users.
