1. Great MindSonar Users Day in Holland
Once more, we had a great MindSonar users day here in Holland last week. About 40 people
were present and together they formed, without a doubt, the most knowledgeable and expert
MindSonar gathering in existence anywhere in the world.
Wonderful atmosphere
One of the things that makes this day such a special event is the unique atmosphere.
Everybody is on the same page, so to speak. One thing I noticed again was how well distributed
the participation is. Where ordinarily in a group of this size, three or four people will ask
questions and offer comments, in this group, at least half of the people respond with questions,
remarks and other contributions. Participation is divided very equally in this group.
Metaprograms in politics
Guus Hustinx, one of the authors of the meta programs book “Mastering communication”, gave
a presentation on in the recent Dutch political debate. Or maybe I should say: the political
non-debate. Because that’s one thing that has been pretty irritating for most participants during
the last elections: politicians are not really debating anymore, they are just exchanging
pre-cooked statements. Guus had made an in-depth analysis of the metaprograms politicians
use and he took the average MindSonar profile to show how they are basically mismatching
most of the metaprograms of the electorate….
MindSonar in strategic management competencies
Our Belgian distributor Chris Minne presented a very nice workshop on strategic management
competencies like vision, leadership, result orientation and so on. The interesting thing here
was, he had actually profiled some really well-known business leaders, who are, each one,
considered to be excellent examples of one of those strategic competencies. Chris had
designed some great exercises, where we could choose one of those competencies and
compare ourselves with the expert examples.
Olympic gold
And then there was a very inspiring presentation by lot Wielders and Jennet Burghard. They
have been coaching the Dutch Olympic horse riding team with MindSonar. they explained, what
was happening within the team, and how are they had done some interesting team building
interventions based on the profiles of the athletes. If you can call, a rider and athletes are, but I
guess you can if we are talking Olympic level. The team was quite enthusiastic about Lot and
Jenet’s MindSonar work. and they did great during the 2012 Olympics in London. They actually
won 20% of all the medals won by Dutch athletes that year….
These were some of the highlights, but there were many other very interesting presentations
and there were some good ideas about the further development of the MindSonar community
here in Holland.
