As long as / provided that / even if / unless Conditions
As long as  is a synomyn for  provided that . Both mean  but only if ... Bart will pass the exam as long as he continues studying hard. Bart will go to the university but only if he studies a lot. Bart will get a degree providing that he works hard at university.
We use  even if  instead of  if  to emphasize. I wouldn’t study even if my teacher was Pamela Anderson. I wouldn’t have concentrated even if my teacher had been uglier. I won’t study even if my father persuades my mother to buy me a motorbike.
Unless  means  if not . It is used as a negative condition. Unless Bart listens to his teachers’ advices, he won’t get a good job. Bart won’t become a doctor unless he studies seriously. Bart will have serious problems unless he changes his manners.
