activatorofanareabecauseitsfunctiondeterminesasteadyflow ofpeople.
TheprojectsiteislocatedinDrobetaTurnuSeverin,atownintheSouthWasteofRomania,ontheDanubeRiver.The
siteislimitedtoNorthbyarailroad,toWestbyashipyard,toEastbythepublicdomainandtoSouthbytheDanube
River.Thecityissituatedinaborderareaofstrategicandgeopoliticalimportance.Theareaisalsooneofinternational
commercialinterestthatisabletosupportastrongtourism industryinEuropebasedonwaterwaytransportation
benefitingfrom differentformsofEuropean,nationalandregionaltraffic:road,rail,water.Thisindustryissupportedby
thefluvialtransportline:NorthSea-Rhine-Main-Danube-BlackSea.
FortheEuropeanUnion,theDanubearearepresentsamacroregionwithpotentialforfuturedevelopment.Therefore
itlaunchedanumberofdevelopmentpoliciesfortheDanubecountriesandthereforethetownrejoicesahuge

CompanyAdministrationoftheDanubeRiverPortswhichincludesother6ports:MoldovaVeche,Calafat,Giurgiu,
Oltenita,CalarasiandCernavoda.ForRomaniarepresentsaprioritytoimprovethenavigabilityontheDanubeRiver
