Now he is also known as an artist.
Savitskaya was the first
woman who went out to the
open space. She stayed in
the space for 3 hours 35
minutes.
The people of Russia made
her a deputy of the State
Duma. She wrote the book
“Yesterday and always”
9. VALENTINA TERESHKOVA
Valentina Tereshkova
was born in 1937 in the
small village near
Yaroslavl.
Her dad died at the Soviet
Finnish war in 1939. Her
mum worked at the textile
mill.
She trained in
the Yaroslavl
flying club
She flew into space on the sapacecraft Vostok6 on the 16 of July in 1963.
