Day 1/2 April: Hanoi arrival (D)
Hanoi is the second largest city of Vietnam with total population of over 6 million people. As the
capital of Vietnam for almost a thousand years, the enchanting Hanoi is considered to be one of
cultural centers of Vietnam, where most of Vietnamese dynasties had left behind their imprint.
Even though some relics have not survived through wars and time, the city still has many
interesting cultural and historic monuments for visitors and residents alike.
Your trip starts today with the warm welcome at the airport in Hanoi. We will have a guided half -
day tour of Hanoi, visiting the Ngoc Son Temple and the legend Hoan Kiem Lake (Lake or the
restored sword). We will then enjoy the unique performance of Water Puppet show and have
dinner at the local restaurant.

Day 2/3 April: Hanoi city tour (B)
As the capital of Vietnam for almost a thousand years, even when the nation's capita l moved to
Hue under the Nguyen dynasty in 1802, the city of Hanoi continued to flourish, especially after the
French took control in 1888 and modeled the city's architecture to their tastes, lending an
important aesthetic to the city's rich stylistic heritage. The city boasts more than 1,000 years of
history, and that of the past few hundred years has been well preserved.
You are picked at the hotel for a guided full day tour of Hanoi, visiting the major sights, including
the Temple of Literature, One Pillar Pagoda and paying a homage to Vietnam's most famous
revolutionary, Ho Chi Minh. After lunch, we visit Ethnology Museum, the miniature of Vietnam with
54 ethnic groups. Here carry out scientific research, collection, documentation, conservation,
exhibition and preserving the cultural and historic patrimony of the nation’s ethnic groups. The
museum also serves to guide research, conservation, and technology that are specific to the work
of an ethnographic museum. We will then visit the Tran Quoc pagoda. This pagoda is well located
beside the dazzling West Lake in Hanoi, and is a cultural symbol of Vietnamese Buddhism. Tour
ends at your hotel at about 5pm.

Day 3/4 April: Hanoi – Halong Bay (B/L/D)

2. Halong Bay has twice been recognized by UNESCO as a World Natural Heritage Area for its
exceptional scenic beauty and outstanding geological and geomorphic values. Thousands of islands
emerging uneven in the fanciful waves look strong and magnificent but also mild and vivid. Amidst
these islands, we feel as if we were astray in a petrified legendary world.
8:00: You are picked up at the hotel. You can leave your luggage behind at the hotel in Hanoi and
pack an overnight bag.
12.15 pm: Arrive in Halong city, board our traditional wooden junk boat for an overnight journey.
Sip on a refreshing welcome drink upon check in before you begin the cruise through the bay.
Feast on a delicious lunch as you cruise among hundreds of islets (Dinh Huong islet, Ga Choi –
Fighting Cock islet, Dog islet, Finger islet, etc.) to discover untouched pockets of Halong Bay and
visit Sung Sot cave, which is situated in the centre of the UNESCO-declared World Heritage area
and is one of the most imposing grottos of the Bay. You will then have chance to explore Halong
bay on your own by kayaking from the Soi Sim beach to Luon Cave to enjoy the quite atmosphere
of the bay. We will have dinner with fresh seafood on board then free time for squid fishing or
relaxing and chatting with your partner, friends, family.

Day 4/5 April: Halong - Hanoi – Hue (night train) (B/L)
7.00am: For early risers complimentary tea, coffee, fruit and cake are served. Enjoy Sunrise on
the Bay or practize Tai Chi lesson with our professional (this is not included with standard and
superior options). Continue to explore the Bay.
8.00am: Sail past rock formations such as Man’s Head islet, Tortoise islet, Butterfly cave, Lion
islet, Bai Tho mountain, enjoy the tranquil scenery as the boat meanders its way through the bay
on the way back to Halong city, etc. Arrange your luggage and do the check out onboard at around
9.00 am. Enjoy a wholesome brunch as your boat weaves through strange-shaped limestone rock
formations.
11.45am: Arrive back at Halong city for disembarkation where your driver waits to take you back
to your Hanoi, on the way call on a ceramic village to see craftsmen do their works. Free time for
your personal activities and dinner till transfer to the station for night train to Hue.

Day 5/6 April: Hue (B)
Hue is located in Thua Thien prefecture and is in the central part of Vietnam, 660 km from Ha Noi
and 1080 km from Saigon. Hue became the name of Vietnam's most well known ancient capital
because of the local mispronunciation of the word Hoá in Thuân Hoá. Here remains many historical
buildings as a capital of the Nguyen dynasty (1802-1945). Inside the city are the Royal Citadel,
Flag Tower, Royal Palace, and Royal Tombs. Hue’s Forbidden Purple City was once reserved for the
royal family; it was severely damaged during the War. Outside the city is the religious site known
as Nam Giao Hill, or Heaven’s Altar.
Pickup at the train station in the morning for full day tour. Our visiting sites includes Old Imperial
City, Flag Tower, Thien Mu Pagoda, Royal Tomb of Khai Dinh. Our exciting day ends with romantic
cruise on the Perfume River with Royal music on boat.

Day 6/7 April: Hue – Hoi An (B/L)
3. Hoi An was originally a Cham port town, but has been influenced down the centuries by a myriad
of traders from various cultures. There is a distinctly Chinese appearance with pagodas and
assembly halls scattered along the small streets. Hoi An was once a bustling port in centuries gone
by, before the river silted up.
We travel by private vehicle from Hue to Da Nang - Journey south along Highway 1 past the Hai
Van Pass and Lang Co. We will visit Cham Museum, Marble Mountain. Upon arrival in Hoi An, an
ancient trading center, we have lunch.
In the afternoon, we have a half day tour to see a historic house, the Japanese Covered Bridge, a
Chinese assembly hall. We enjoy a free afternoon to make the most of delightful Hoi An and its
surrounding areas. The market is a good place to buy silk that can be made up into fine garments,
all within a day. Close to town is the Cua Dai beach, which can be reached easily by bicycle, is an
ideal place to swim and relax.

Day 7/8 April: Da Nang – Nha Trang (B)
Free and easy till pick up for transfer to the airport at 8:30 for the flight to Nha Trang (VN1943
16:00/17:05).
Located on the South Central Coast of Vietnam Nha Trang is well known for its pristine beaches
and excellent scuba diving and is fast becoming a popular destination for international tourists,
attracting large numbers travelers. It is already very popular with Vietnamese tourists and is
widely considered as amongst the world's most beautiful bays. Tourists are welcome to participate
in the Sea Festival, held biennially. Nha Trang was the site of the Miss Universe 2008 Pageant on
July 14, 2008 and it will also host Miss World 2010.
On arrival in Nha Trang we transfer to visit the Po Nagar Cham Tower. The tower was constructed
by the Cham in honor of Yang Ino Po Ngar, the mother of the kingdom. It was occupied by the
local Buddhists of Nha Trang for prayers and worship. The Po Nagar Kalan is a structure in dazzling
colors and with amazing architecture. The well known Oceanographic Institute will also be visited.
The remainder of the day is free to relax on the beach with your personal activities.

Day 8 – 12/9 – 13 April: Nha Trang – Free and easy (B)

Day 13/14 April: Nha Trang - Ho Chi Minh City (B)
Free until pickup at 6:30 for the flight to Saigon (VN1351 07:45/08:40)
Ho Chi Minh City was the capital of the French colony of Cochinchina and later of the independent
state of South Vietnam from 1954 to 1975. Since then, the city merged with the surrounding
province of Gia Định and was officially renamed Hồ Chí Minh City. This is the largest city in
Vietnam and the nation's economic capital. The metropolitan area Hồ Chí Minh City and
surrounding towns, is populated by more than 9 million.
We take a short city tour to the Reunification Palace, War Remnants Museum and Notre Dame
Cathedral. You will also admire the many beautiful French colonial buildings such as the main post
office and the former Hotel de Ville (city hall). If time permits, we will visit the bustling Cho Lon
4. Market (Chinatown). This trip helps you view the city from another perspective and to see the
abundance of fresh local produce that is such an important feature of Vietnamese cuisine.

Day 14/15 April: Ho Chi Minh – Cao Dai - Cu Chi tunnels (B)
We will start from your hotel to visit the Cao Dai Temple in Tay Ninh (120 km) where daily Mass is
done by the Caodaism followers at noon. Cao Dai is a combination of Buddhism, Confucianism,
Taoism, native Vietnamese spiritualism, Christianity and Islam. After lunch, we head to Cu Chi
Tunnels. The tunnels cover an extensive underground network (approximately 200 kilometers) of
tunnels dug initially by the Viet Minh and later expanded by the Viet Cong. The tunnels contained
hospitals, plus accommodation and schools, and were used extensively for refuge and storage and
also utilized as a military base for the Viet Cong close to Saigon. The 1968 Tet Offensive was
launched from Cu Chi with surprising effect. A section of the tunnels has been widened to allow
tourists to get a feel for what the life underground must have been like.
Day 15/16 April: Ho Chi Minh – Cai Be Floating Market (B)
6am: Pick up at your hotel in Ho Chi Minh city. Depart for Cai Be by car/van, stopping to take
photos in Tan An town overlooking the picturesque flat rice fields. On arrival in Cai Be, set off by
motor boat to visit the Cai Be floating market and watch the locals trading fruit and many other
commodities on board their vessels. Then wander into the small villages to visit the orchard and
fruit plantation.
Keep cruising to Vinh Long through a series of small canals to experience the charms of the Upper
Mekong Delta. Visit a small family business to see how coconut candy and crispy rice popcorn are
made. Arrive in Binh Hoa Phuoc village, the green pearl of Vinh Long town, where you can
immerse yourself in nature. Enjoy a lunch of fresh river food served in the heart of the garden
accompanied by traditional southern Vietnamese folk music. Take a delightful walk through the
bonsai garden. Meet the car/van in Vinh Long. Return to HCMC. Arrive back to Saigon at around
6pm. Transfer to the airport for departure flight. Trip ends.
