Abstract. With a stressful every day life there is less time to handle unexpected health conditions. About 80% of patients search their symptoms on the internet prior to see their doctor. Direct Teledermatology (DT) is the practice of direct consultation between the citizen and a dermatologist. Mobile teledermatology refers to the evaluation of a patient’s skin condition through the use of images captured and sent by a mobile device. Today’s mobile phone cameras have excellent optics and can take good quality pictures, from which a dermatologist can make a sound medical judgment. The technical service offers anonymous healthcare advice “on the go” on any visual medical concern by dermatologists, in any mobile device; anytime, anywhere, anyone, 24/7. The user receives a reply within 24 hours, with possible diagnosis and treatment information or if a doctor should be seen in person. The user is charged through in app billing systems or by credit cards. The service has shown an interesting use in the management of sexually transmitted diseases (STD) such as condylona acuminatum.
