1. ANNUAL REPORT OF THE HOLY FAMILY EX-STUDENTS ASSOCIATION FROM
JANUARY 2010 - DECEMBER 2010.
The Holy Family High School Ex-Students Association continued its efforts as a
bridge between the school and its Alumni in the year 2010.
The Association had earlier drawn up its association and had pledged to meet at
least once a month on the third Sunday of each month at 11.00 am in the school
library. Over the period January 2010 – December 2010, this association has met 9
times. And as on December 31st 2010 has 2520 registered members. The latest
entrants being 273 members from 2009-10 pass-out batch.
The Ex-Students Association would like to place on record the unstinting support
given by Fr. Swamy (Principal), Sister Iona (Vice Principal), Helene George
(Teacher), Mrs Bina Varghese (Teacher) & all the teachers of the school, Office staff
and peons through out the past year.
John Neelankavil was elected as the President of the Association. Fr. Francis
Swamy, the Principal of Holy Family High School, is the Ex-Officio vice-President of
the association. Sister Iona (Vice Principal) is a permanent member of the core
committee as also is the Headmistress Sister Jacintha Cutinha.

Some of the highlights of the activities from January 2010 to December 2010 are as
follows:
1) Vocational Guidance Program and Career Counseling – Your association
organized a Vocational guidance program in August’2010 in the school Hall.

2. counselor, conducted this program. The program was a huge success judging
by the attendance of parents and students of Std Xth. 157 English medium
and 85 Marathi medium students attended the program. The speaker gave
details on the choices available for students after finishing school. Basic
faculties of Arts, Science, Commerce, post graduation courses and career
prospects were covered. Subsequently a written Aptitude test was arranged
for the student in the school. A final counseling with each student and their
parents was conducted.
2) Inter School Value Education Skit competition– Your association
organized Inter-School Value Education competition. It was held
successfully on the 26th of Sep 2010. Grateful thanks to PTA of the school
who - celebrating their 'Golden Jubilee' this year -- joined us in organising
it, apart from providing us complete sponsorship of all the expenses.
Teams from 10 schools from the Andheri & Vile Parle participated in the
competition. The Rolling Shield was won by Holy Family High School and
individual prizes were won by students from other neighboring schools.
3) Adopt a child and Nutrition program – The nutrition program now provides
breakfast to 35 students. The program is running successfully for the last few
years. In the year 2010 year the program offered breakfast to students from
January to April & from August to December.
4) Retirement of School Staff – Mrs. Elizabeth John and Mrs.Nelly Rego
retired in the year 2010 after 26 years and 34 years of glorious service
respectively. Cecil Fernandes had attended the farewell ceremony . A token
amount by cheque was presented to them as a souvenir for their service
towards the school and their students.
5) Holy Family Ex-Students Website – In December 2006, the association tied
up with an application service provider to launch its very own website –
www.holyfamilyexstudents.org . A basic website was up and running. Despite
some efforts this year too we could not get it activated. However we have an
official presence on Facebook under the name hfhsxstudents. There have
already been 163 registrations. We would like to continue with the website,
and would appeal to members to come forward and help in maintaining it.
