Decision Matrix
Accessibility of Materials
1) The materials are common items that you have laying around your house.
2) The materials can be found at a general store like Walgreens or Jewel Osco.
3) The materials can be found at hardware stores like Ace, Home Depot, or stores like these.
4) The materials needed to be specially ordered from the internet.
5) You are unable to find the materials you need even on the internet.
Size
1) When the part is placed on the guitar stand, it is barely noticeable.
2) When the part is placed onto the guitar stand, it is somewhat visible, but does not distract
from other visible characteristics of the guitar.
3) The part is about the same size as either the basket or another part of the guitar stand, and
does not look out of place.
4) When placed onto the stand, the part is somewhat apparent and may get in the way.
5) The part is obnoxiously large and obviously distracts from other visual aspects of the guitar
stand.
Functioning
1) The part operates perfectly as intended, and keeps the guitar safe in the stand.

3) The part adds no safety feature to holding the guitar, and there is no reason for it to be
added.

Durability
1) After repeated use, the added piece of the guitar stand has not worn down at all, and is very
reliable.
2) After repeated use, the added piece has been slightly worn down, but is still very much so
usable.
3)After repeated use, the added piece of the guitar has worn down to the point where it must
be replaced.
4) The added part of the guitar may not be used more than a few times without becoming
completely useless.

purpose.
I chose to go with the ideas of the Foam and the Extended basket. The reason that I chose two
ideas was because these would require modifications to two different parts of the guitar stand.
Also, together these two ideas work well with each other. This is because while the foam on the
neck may be able to support some weight of the guitar, it will not be able to support the whole
body. This is where the extended basket comes in, it will stop the guitar from hitting the
ground.
