Elasticity of Demand measures how quantity demanded responds to changes in price. Demand is elastic when quantity changes more than price, and inelastic when quantity changes less than price. Implicit differentiation allows taking derivatives of functions not in explicit y=f(x) form. Higher order derivatives provide information about the rate of change of earlier derivatives and can be used to analyze the curvature of functions or elasticity over different ranges when applying implicit differentiation.
