This document provides instructions for milestones 1 and 2 of a website development project. Milestone 1 involves creating a project proposal with details of the site such as title, developer, target audience and a site diagram. Milestone 2 involves expanding the site specification and creating a detailed page layout design in Visio with sections for header, links, content and footer. Upon completion, students are instructed to submit their work in a single Word document with a specific naming convention for each milestone. CIS 363 A – WEEK 1 AND WEEK 2 MILESTONES
Milestone 1 – Week 1: Site Selection and Layout Design
1. Create a Project Proposal document stating the basic elements you will include in your website. This stage is
primarily a draft. You will modify it in later weeks. Include a cover sheet with your name, course, and week
number. The body of your report must include

In Visio, use the Save-As option to create an image file of your site. Copy this image file into your Project
Proposal document.

3. how to measure site success;
4. description of intended audience;
5. how to determine user satisfaction; and

 technological issues that might influence site development.
7. Prepare a detailed page layout design in Visio including
8. header area;
9. link area;
10. main content area; and
11.
 footer area.
This layout will be the main design/template for all of the pages in your site. In future weeks, you will be
altering the main content areas as needed.
